Do you care if someone you trade with resells your games for profit?
Well i trade games only when i want something so badly and then i dont care if other person make some profit coz i got what i wanted. And its not so easy to make good money trading bundle games.
For me its just waste of time (money that they got trading bundles is not even worth time that they spent)

After my wife found out how much money a certain trader makes from selling copies of The Ship on the grey market, she started up an online relationship with him without my knowledge. Four months later, the trader flew her and my kids out on a private jet to Chile, where they now reside together in his mansion. The last time I heard from my kids, they told me that I was worth less than a copy of Murder Miners. My kids call the trader dad now.
Please help me put a stop to key resellers. I believe it should be illegal, and they should all be rounded up and shot.
Thanks for listening to my post. Namaste.

I skimmed through what you posted.
While i get why you said the things you did and why you feel that way..
I do question one thing, when you trade something with someone what they do with it what does that have to do the trade itself??I thought the point of a trade was for both parties to get what they want and who am i to decide what they should do with the items i trade. If you are that worried about what someone does with your items why even trade them to start with.?
It's like saying i will not sell you my car because i think you might speed in it and that is not what i want you to do with it.
That being said if you gave it to them as a gift and they did that then i could see bringing up morals or what not because it is something you should not do if someone is giving it to you with the intention of you using it for yourself.
I do not think this whole trade thing and ethics applies to every situation as i said the purpose of a trade is for both parties to get what they want regardless of motives of each party. In fact at times i have traded others for a game i wanted to trade with someone else to get the game i really wanted. In the end everyone got what they wanted so i do not see why that is an issue.I think you just reading way to much into this because you found one person who lied to you.Maybe it time to stop trading or find better people to trade with you trade with random people there is a risk they just want a game to profit off of or trade away for another game me i could care less what they do with it as long as i get what i wanted.
Also you bring in it is illegal to re-sell keys which is is not however it is against TOS,also trading of keys is actually not allowed either, you are meant to use the gift link, and keys are meant for your own personal use.So if you trade keys or use them in GA's on this site you are breaking the same rules they are by re-selling the keys.
Either way this is just my thoughts on it good luck with whatever you decide and sorry that it happened to you.

You made a problem from nothing. Why do you care that much how they would use the game you gave them? Are you SJW or something? If you trade - you do this for profit anyway. For you - the profit is a new game you can play. For them - whatever, if they plan to sell it - it's on their conscience. The only legit reason for you to worry - it's if you're envious for them. And this is telling more about you, then about them.
I never sell what I got, I trade for the games I want, or plan to giveaway, or plan to gift to a friend... But that does not means I would worry if someone sold game he got from me - after all, now it's not mine anymore, because I traded it.

I'm not surprised about your interpretation of this thread when you also think I was bitter just because of not understanding and saying you exploit people because a 2.5x 'profit' was not enough. I wasn't bitter, just pointing out it is not a fair trade you are looking for.
However, just because of you having a personal issue with me and calling me a little pissant after winning a game from me on the same day, doesn't mean you need to bring this up in a topic that has nothing to do with it. THAT is just hating.
On a side note, I never made you believe the game I offered is more expensive than the price I would have paid. It was indeed cheap on Nuuvem but still around 5 times the price of your glitched Just Cause 3.

Why do you care? Those people struggle to make a profit. No matter what you do they won't change their mind.
That's why I don't trade. It's always better to buy the game for reasoable price than getting it from trades.
IMO I prefer normal job over trader acting.
People are ready to waste their money on trades. One day I traded a KF2 skin from a PC gamer giveaway for 25 euros.

Did you know worldwide economy works kinda the same way? you can only blame yourself for not being able to make the most profit out of your trades.
edit: btw once you traded something, it's not yours anymore. What happens to the items you've sold is none of your concern anymore and has nothing to do with "ethics", "justice" or anything else.

at the end of the day I really dont give a damn as to where the keys I unload end up (mostly selling spares on group buys for a couple of cents)
simply put: i dont think its any of my business nor do I need people to ask me what am I planning to do with the games I get (through trade, obviously)
Most ppl dont feel like playing the "internet police" over insignificant things

What a world we live in.
Thanks to this thread, I discovered I've been blacklisted by its author and many others on Steamgifts.
One of them had a special place in my heart for he's the one who taught me the basics of trading when I began. He's now in love with this thread's author and I'm happy for him.
I ended up trading with Geoglitch and hope she was (and still is) as happy as I was back then.
I am happy about the poll result. Also, I had a good laugh reading comments from people I trade with on Barter.vg . I am so happy the website grew big and what a great community we got now :)

Edit, to clear up a couple of things: The use of this thread is to raise awareness. It is about ethics, about rights and about justice. There's very different definitions for words like trading around and I only notice that now. Trading, to me, is a simple and fair exchange of games that each party already has or don't want but happen to own it because of buying a bundle.
This thread is not much about the real profit someone gains. It's about ethics.
So. There's this massive trader on Barter that just announced his happy 1000th completed trade celebration.
Great you think?
No.
In reality he's just someone that trades for games he can resell for profit (sometimes huge profit..). I didn't even know some bundle games would sell that well on G2A & co. But I got suspicious about him a long time ago. It dawned on me when I saw he completed a trade that looked SO unrealistic to me. The Vanishing of Ethan Carter (his nuuvem key) for a game that has been bundled 3x and is not really wanted in the trading community anymore?
I just needed to investigate the case and found that specific game is selling very well for 10-12$ on the grey markets.
I know many people I traded with would resell my games because of them explicitly wanting gift links or Steam gifts. I only ask for those things if I want to make a giveaway for a game or I don't know the trader really well. Most of the times I didn't care too much but things have changed.
I can never be 100% sure what happens to my games but I'm separating myself more and more from trading anyways..
The only reason why it bothers me today a lot is because said person lied to me for half a year, he called me a conspiracy theorist because I questioned his sources and actions (I started asking out of curiosity where he's getting games from, not even to insult or judge him).
He made me believe I'm crazy. He even called me "sick" today.
The real issue here is almost all of those resellers are LYING. It is illegal to resell bundle keys. They have second accounts to hide their identity and they lie right into your face. They use you to make profit, even if you think you did a good trade. I don't want to support this grey market stuff anymore and nasty traders not being honest but leaving with a good reputation.
today's rant's over, go get your popcorn
PS: I'm looking forward to play your game, Mr. master trader. You told me you need RPG Maker gift links because you are still looking for people to hire to work on your game, which is why you need a 100% working key for later. ;) One of many sweet little lies.
PPS: In case someone asks why I even care: Read the text again.
PPPS: Mistrust and being cautious, imho, are good things. Don't trust anyone on the internet if you don't know them for a longer time.
