I want to go back to the old PS2 day, where I can spend countless hours enjoying the story of the game.Any suggestions guy/gals?

I was into games like:
-FFX
-FFx2
-Jak and Daxter series
-Ratchet and clanks series
-Kingdom Hearts (looking back now the dialogue don't quite hold up as I thought when I first played it in Primary school)

Any games you guys/gals think most people would have missed, post them below and any games you really enjoyed as well and the reason why.

I know. I still wanted to respond. It boosts my comment count, which has to try to catch up with all the entries the bundle points are getting me.

Zone of the Enders, Zone of the Enders 2, Xenosaga series, and Rogue Galaxy. To bad I don't remember some more ps2 games with good story I had quite a bit more but I am unable to recall them. P.S. even if it doesn't have such a great story I think you should try Robot Alchemic Drive its a fun game especially since you have full control over 3 different types of giant robots :D.

Final fantasy X is all there needs to be said, i miss them days of killing dark aeons, or killing ultimate beasts in the monster arena.

Also played X-2, never got to finish it, was at like 93%, some big corridor type of dungeon, i sort of remember the name, it even had a background music of it's own, which was pretty sweet.

MGS 3: snake eater, good game, good moments. I can't seem to remember anything else... I got FF12, but it doesn't even work on my ps2 anymore sadly. My bro bought it and played it, but i can't play it due to some controller issues. Otherwise it could have been another addition to the list.

For X2 I want to finishing playing but I found the eng dub to be horrible. really want to play the undubed version. I was about 20% of it but I couldn't stand it when my emulator can't play the cutsence properly. So shuttered :(

i think i know that issue, my original copy had the same problem, ps2 couldn't read this cutscene related to FF X when i replayed it a 2nd time last year, disc has no damage and the ps2 can't go through that cutscene, nice one right?

Xenosaga episodes 1 to 3. All time favorite JRPGs. The story is just superb and carries over through all three games. Though I feel gameplay and art-wise (though the graphics are technically superior, it took a different path from the other two with the art) that the second game is a bit weak. But I am in the minority with my view of the second game.

Edit: Also, Lifeline. It has its issues and never was a very popular game, but I always loved it. It is a survival horror game, more in the line of something like Parasite Eve than Silent Hill/Resident Evil. But the catch is that you control the game with your headset instead of a controller.

It is the grand opening of a massive space station hotel, and the hotel is suddenly attacked by an unknown breed of aliens. You play as one of the guests who escapes to the security room. Through the monitors, you see a survivor, a waitress from the hotel's dining room. You talk her through the game via your headset, telling her where to go, what to examine in each room, how to solve puzzles, and where to aim on each enemy you encounter.

Always wanted to play Lifeline, but the game never saw a release in my region, and I lack a working PS2 headset even if I acquired a copy.

Wish I could find one of those down here. I have a PS2, XBox and Gamecube, but still need a Dreamcast so I can try the exclusives for that system. Though likely through piracy given the rarity of them down here. :(

Damn, I'd love to have games like Jak & Daxter and Ratchet & Clank on PC :/

Also I remember one game I loved to play when visiting a friend of mine, which probably no one remembers, which is Smugglers Run from Rockstar ^^

I have such an adapter myself, but I still have a few PS2s, two of them hooked up with network adapters and hard drives so I can play games without using discs. :P

My brother bought Smugglers Run during the PS2 era but I never bothered to play it. Was busy with Battlefront 2 and such. Maybe I'll bust out the PS2 and try it.

Shadow Hearts and Shadow Hearts: Covenant
Suikoden III and V
Xenosaga series
Tales of the Abyss
Ys: The Ark of Napishtim
Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits (and since you mentioned you have a PSP, the collection on PS1 is real cheap there)

All very good RPGs with great stories.

Most of the fans really dislike it because it's just nowhere near as good as the rest. I've tried playing it many times and I just can't get into it at all.

I actually want to try that one. :P

I blame it on Tactics offering additional characters for having a completed Suikoden IV save.

"The PS2 was crap. They didn't have good games." Said no one ever.

The PS2 had some good games around my young age. Here are the games that I recommend for people to play

Kingdom Hearts (1, 2, and COM remake)
Dragon Quest VIII
Persona 3 FES and 4
Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 and Dragon Ball Z, Buidokai Tenkaichi 2
GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas (Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories are decent additions to the GTA series)
Final Fantasy X (The last good FF game to be made for the PS2)
Xenosaga series (Only played one so I can't give you the full experience, but I enjoyed the first one)
Sly Cooper series (1-3)
Jak and Daxter series (1-3)
Ratchet and Clank (1-3)
Devil May Cry (1 and 3, 2 was just a little bit meh to me)
Disgaea 1 and 2 (like Final Fantasy Tactics, but longer and more replay value)
Prince of Persia series (1-3, but one is the best of them all)
God of War 1 and 2
Tales of the Abyss
and if you like Yu-gi-oh, Yu-gi-oh: The Duelist of the Roses (not your ordinary Yu-gi-oh card game)

That's about it. Very unique PS2 games that I enjoyed.
