It was either Left 4 Dead 2 (yeah, on PC, paid full price on launch, laugh at me) or Crysis Maximum Edition (just gotta love that box).

The last one I have purchased on a disc is Kirby's Epic Yarn. I don't regret it, but it should have been it's own IP.

Rocksmith. Needed the tone cable and the best value was to buy the package, so I bought it from Amazon.

I could already play and I use it as an addition tool in the learning process. You can't just play the game and expect to become a great guitarist, it isn't going to happen. You still need a good foundation in theory and practice, scales, chord theory, music theory etc.
However learning should be fun and the game is a lot of fun, plus it actually teaches you songs on a real instrument. It could be a little daunting if you are a completely new player though, but it adapts to your playing pretty well and helps you progress using a number of different tools.
So yes it can aid in learning, but it isn't a substitute for a good foundation course. It certainly has helped me progress in my playing :)

Halo 4 on Xbox 360. I picked it up for $34.99 new, and put about 25 hours into it, so it was a good buy, in my opinion. I'm not really into console stuff these days, but I've been a fan of the series since 2002, so I felt compelled to play it.

Half Life Platinum edition
The only thing that was a big bummer, was that when I tried adding the Orange Box to the same account I registered the HL Platinum with, it didn't let me (some Valve limitation). So I had to create a new account for the Orange Box (which was my first digital acquisition).

Say what is the last game you have ever bought on a disc and whether or not you regret buying it.
