Same here, no banner, mine won't let me disconnect my Steam account though so I can't reconnect it >_>
Edit: Finally managed to get it all working.

For those of you who have a large library that causes GOG Galaxy to be unable to see all your games, I bypassed that issue by installing The Witcher 3 via Steam. This way, it was detected. I guess GOG Galaxy prioritizes games that are installed in the game list it retrieves from Steam. This way, I even got the GOTY version detected properly.
Of course, unless you play it at the same time, that will be 100GB of SSD writes (50GB x 2 as Steam still "preallocates" disk space) wasted...

Mine finally sees the GOTY version on Steam as it should, but now the Claim button won't show up anymore. Anyone else with this problem?
Edit: Finally managed to get it all working. As somebody who already had GOTY on Steam as well as Base game on GOG since release, and has a really low tolerance for bloated clients, was it worth all the trouble? If this is to advertise how great Galaxy 2.0 is, it definitely didn't work for me ...

and has a really low tolerance for bloated clients, was it worth all the trouble?
Definitely no. I had a nightmare trying to make it work, python constantly tried to do something for no reason and took up CPU resources , and the plugin crashed non stop until just now. I uninstalled GoG Galaxy.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah. It was constantly using 100% of CPU here, half the time it would become completely unresponsive and the other half of the time windows just stayed black, and on the rare case it seemed to work, the plugin eventually crashed. I spent over an hour two days ago and over half an hour again this morning, and must have killed the process from task manager three dozen times before it finally worked.
Hey, at least I don't have to wonder anymore. So many people have said Galaxy 2.0 is the greatest thing since sliced bread and I always wondered if I should give it a try (tried Galaxy 1.0 back then which also didn't work well at all for me). Now I know!

I have a question with getting another gift code for Witcher 3, for all those who already own it on GOG. I have installed GOG Galaxy 2 and connected it to my GOG account. I can see the banner to claim GOG.com version of Witcher, which should be enabled, but it isn't. Does anyone know what to do? Thanx.

Try to claim it again using this method: https://www.steamgifts.com/go/comment/ArLyDxe
Should be able to get you the GOTY edition. You might need to relogin your GOG account for the banner to appear.

That worked for me

Keep retrying I guess, but if you have to do it more than 3 times, I'd try https://www.steamgifts.com/go/comment/ArLyDxe.

Did anyone with a huge library manage to get this? for me after it adds some games it always crashes and it will never show Witcher 3 among them
Comment has been collapsed.
Try DingDong2's solution https://www.steamgifts.com/go/comment/Buyu7Cp
and Daynov's too https://www.steamgifts.com/go/comment/ArLyDxe.

It will take forever for me to download it with my crappy internet with only about 14 hours left for the promotion, but thanks a lot for pointing out this suggestion :)

I'd try Daynov's solution first then. I have just over 2000 games on Steam. Before that solution I kept getting disconnected errors. It would download a few % information of the games on Steam, then disconnect and I'd have to quit GOG Galaxy and restart it. Then repeat. Must have taken at least a dozen tries to get my library up to 100%.. After Daynov's solution, it took a minute to update the Steam library in GOG Galaxy.

I can see the banner but it's unclickable. I have The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - GOTY in my GOG account. Do I need to own it on another platform too in order to receive a giftable code of the game?
Comment has been collapsed.
That's correct, you need to own it another platform to get the giftable code. It's all in the FAQ at the top.

That's an interesting marketing strategy: reward those ignoring your platform and ignore those that supported your platform directly. I wonder how many will stop buying directly from GOG and buy their games from Steam instead. That seems to be the wise choice since even GOG is giving you incentives to do it. Moreover, by doing this you'll eventually get both the Steam version as well as the DRM-free version after a while.
That aside, the game is a masterpiece and I don't regret buying it. This is one of the few games that I think it truly deserves its full price and even more.

They probably just wanted more users to meet Gog Galaxy. If you don't have it on Gog but on other platforms, they don't lose anything by giving people the game they already bought it. In fact more users install Gog Galaxy that way.
Giving a giftable copy for who owns the game on both platforms is a nice gesture though. They basically turned the one on Gog into a gift because they know people bought it just for the extra support.

It doesn't work for me. My GoG Galaxy varsion is only 2.0.16 and can't get 2.0.16.187 version that is required to get Free Witcher 3 copy. I tried uninstalling and downloading instaler from their site but it didn't help.

Version of GOG Galaxy is shown under Settings in GOG Galaxy. Click the gear in the upper right corner, then Settings. Version # is in lower left.
Try https://www.steamgifts.com/go/comment/ArLyDxe
After disconnecting Steam, try starting GOG Galaxy again and wait a few minutes for it to update. It took a few minutes for mine to say there was an update. I can't find a manual way of making it update. See FAQ at the top for how to get GOG Galaxy to update.

It finally updated but It still doesn't show banner for me. Witcher 3 and GOTY appear in my steam library but only normal one show my gameplay stats if that changes anything...

Did you try the linked solution? Remove steam integration, logout GOG Galaxy, login GOG Galaxy, Connect Steam integration, sync integration. Wait until it finishes all downloading (it may do it several times, it did for me). Then check again?
It worked for me (it had still thought I didn't own GOTY on Steam). Use the search function, type The Witcher 3 and see if it says GOTY is owned.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yes. I did it at least 5 times now... It still won't show up. I think i will give up on this promotion.
Edit:Did it a few more times, only relaunching GOG and It finally worked....yay

Congrats! Reminds me of The IT Crowd: "Have you tried turning it off and on again?". 😃

I had contacted GOG support because I didn't receive the GOTY having it on Steam, they tell me to open the application once again and hit the banner but there is no banner anymore.
Looks like the client promotion didn't go so well, I still see PS4 users complaining that they can't even claim it.

PSN still won't sync up as it just times out with connection errors, so I guess I won't be getting to take part in this deal as I have Witcher 3 GOTY on PS4. GOG support has done nothing. I tried the fix I found on the GOG forums and that didn't work either. The connection just keeps timing out. All other platforms synced fine. It's just PSN, which is the one I need.

They sold 13 millions copies even after accounting for refunds. They'll do just fine.

All in all, a reasonably good year. Comparatively, the way things have been going, I'm not holding out too much hope for 2069..

I blame the OP for being lazy and not closing the thread

I haven't closed this on purpose. In threads like these, there's always a chance that some relevant and useful information could come up months or years later. If that means having to see it bumped repeatedly by people with a spam itch, then so be it.

Like what info? If they give it away again then just post a new thread lol. I appreciate people like you who let fellow gamers know about deals and giveaways we might miss but there are so many out dated threads clogging up the feed its crazy.

FAQ
From the FAQ:
I’m eligible for a free copy of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on GOG.COM, but I don’t see any information about it in GOG GALAXY 2.0. What should I do?
An update to the app is needed, so please make sure you have the latest version (Windows – 2.0.16.187, macOS – 2.0.16.200). If the update is not triggered automatically after launching the application, please wait a couple of minutes and a pop up should appear. If it doesn’t, you can go to www.gogalaxy.com and clicking the ‘DOWNLOAD GOG GALAXY’ banner will trigger the update without downloading the installer.
