I use it on a separate computer and its pretty nice. I'm too lazy to type out all the reasons I like it though.

I tried it, and it's concept is good - but I prefer Mint because there's no ads that I can see in any of the UI.

I use Ubuntu, but with KDE. I use it because it's the most popular one and therefore most supported Linux distro and because it was the first Linux distro I used.
I don't like all the stuff Canonical puts into it but you don't have to use it.

Used it few years ago. Just for fun. Learned some command and other cool stuff.

From the various linux distro i use ubuntu cause it's the easiest to make work how i want in the shortest time. Some people prefer to use other ones that aren't so ready to use like ubuntu, i don't get why one have to make such decision(i have other things to do rather then spending time making the os work). Some people doesn't like the UI with the new versions, i don't really care, for me it's nice and you can also put back gnome if you want. Some people complains about the bloatware in ubuntu, also there i don't care, it's not like they change the things so much. So, overall i think i like ubuntu cause it's more user friendly.
(...every time i write it's a pain reading what i've said. My english sucks...)

I tried 11.04 a while back when Windows XP broke down on a really old laptop of mine, it was good, the machine was really slow on XP (even after several fresh installs), however Ubuntu made it much faster... even though hardware was old everything was supported, in fact some features that got messed up after reinstalling Win XP, such as volume regulation button and scrolling on the touchpad automatically got the right drivers and worked again.
Recently I tried to upgrade it to the 12.04 LTS, however as the laptop is total crap it randomly rebooted during the installation and the files got corrupted, so now neither of the OS' run, I might burn the newest one on a DVD and install it sometime though.
To you saying that it's an ad machine - I did not notice any ads on the 11.04 version, and provided that it is FREE, some ads are to be expected as it is the source of income for free items. I'm sure they could even be removed, as it is open source.
I'll also probably try it on my newer laptop, when I get a desktop PC, as the laptop can't really run AAA games and most indie titles and even Valve games that I play are available on Linux now, and doing real work is more efficient and comfortable on an Ubuntu. It also goggles up less resources, while looks much more pretty.

I use Ubuntu GNOME Remix among other Linux distros. I use Linux because it does literally everything better than Windows except for certain software which the companies choose to not make a Linux version, such as many games.

12.10 in a diff partition, how exactly is it an Ad Machine????

I'm on 12.04 LTS and I honestly have no idea what ads people are talking about.
Then again I am using it with gnome classic. Can't stand unity. At all. Hate that thing so much. Good thing you can modify Linux to hell and back.
I learned my Linux with Debian (command line only) but the graphic Debian isn't to my liking at all so I decided to use Ubuntu instead. I have to find time to install some other distros on my VMs though and pick one I really like.

Nah it was introduced before that since I had to get myself gnome.
Here's how my desktop currently looks like
But yeah I see what you mean now.

I want to like Ubuntu, but I need my games, and games don't like Linux unless they're indie. :(
I get why people don't like modern Ubuntu, but I don't get it. I think the interface looks nice. I haven't used it much, I admit that, but when I think Linux, realistically, I think Android. And the changes to modern Ubuntu seem to me inspired by Android. Just like Windows 8 is inspired by Windows Phone 7, and reportedly, OS X is going to start looking more and more like iOS (I keep hearing this, but have yet to see proof, though I hear Siri is coming to OS X).

I use ubuntu from a flash drive, just as a sneaky way to do things instead of having certain things on my computer for anyone to see if they tried

Out of curiosity, I want to know who uses Ubuntu and why.
From what I can tell, all it is now is just one massive Ad Machine.
I use Linux Mint.
