I sometimes hook up my TV and sit back, play some platformer games with a controller and find it pretty nice. Every once in a blue moon, I might even play some Payday 2 through BPM. I have never encountered lag while using it myself (noticed a lot of people saying they don't use it because of lag).

No lag here, tried it on 3 totally different computers, not sure why it would cause lag, if you notice when you launch a game from it it slows down the animation(Background one) in order to pull all resources to the game.

A while back, I turned it on not knowing exactly what it did and was pretty confused. After managing to exit, I figured I'd avoid it. When I got a controller and realized the Big Picture Mode is kind of intended for use with a controller, I tried it again. Now that I had a better idea of how to use it, it was better, but I still prefer the regular interface on my computer.

I do use it every time I wanna play with the controller... which is pretty much always.
I am a leftie and I ain't wasting time on setting the mouse's buttons or anything. Haters gonna hate.

Yeah you are missing the point...
It's used for people who connect the PC to a TV and use a controller, I use it often, it works really well with a controller, works like shit with a mouse/keyboard since it was not made with that in mind at all. I never ever even once misclicked it, not sure how you could, its pretty big....easy to avoid, maybe thats just my opinion though....

I don't have my PC hooked up to a TV, although a friend of mine has a really nice setup in his bedroom with a wall-mounted TV and wireless mouse and keyboard. Anyway, I used to hit open it by accident many times at first, and it almost always crashed Steam when I did so. Now that it's more stable, I use it when I feel like playing games with a controller. Big Picture has a UI where you can configure your controller, mapping it to an Xbox 360 controller. I have an old PS2 controller with both PS2 and USB plugs, and many games seem to only work with a 360 controller. Since I don't have one, mapping the controller through Big Picture is the best I can do, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, but when it does, it's worth it.

Protip: With games you suspect have controller support but are not in listed, just go to forums and type controller.

I only use it to see what games i have are controller-supported.

I can't get it to work with my PS4 controller. The UI works fine and I want to use it but once I try to play any games with my controller it doesn't work.

Big Picture was created for TV's,when youre sitting down on your sofa 5 meters from TV and warm yourself under coat...you dont need to get out for keyboard/mouse;)
