So far I have not spent anything yet on cards, but maybe in the future I'll want to upgrade my badges, since they're all lvl 1. And this is not because I resisted temptation, but because I made my first purchase with my account during the summer sale, so I have to wait until Aug 15 to get market privileges. Oh boy, I wouldn't want to be my wallet on Aug 15, that's for sure.

A few days ago, I didn't even care about this trading card business. I was like, "Pshhh, trading cards are lame. I'll never care about them. Who needs badges anyways?"
Ten minutes ago, I just spent five real life dollars to upgrade my Half-Life 2 badge to level 5. What have I become? What have trading cards done to my life? Are there any long-term effects? Is there a cure? Is there some sort of Trading Cards Anonymous meeting I can attend?
