In what order do you enter giveaways?
First wishlisted games, then I'll take a quick look around the forums for any GAs of wishlisted games or something new that'll catch my interest. On my time on this site I think I've only run out of points once so far, because I don't enter everything in sight. :3

Most of the time I check the wishlist section first and then the whitelists and recommended. But I rarely join GAs lately. I only join the ones I'm sure I want to play (and sometimes not even those).
I never run out of points :P

Id say wishlisted and by group first and by time... it varies.
Truth is i enter by WANT vs chances.
WANT is a fickle variation of my wishlist that changes weekly or bi-weekly; Im suddenly into a genre so that kind of genre from my WL becomes my priority. Thats also usually the time i discover new titles of said genre that are well reviewed and were under my radar so my wishlist ends up growing a bit more.
I generally avoid GAs with too many entries as well and i particularly look foward to group gas under 5 entries first- some groups im part of theres even rules not counting those plus the creators wouldn't get cv. I try to factor this with time to end. I don't overhink it, in a glimpse the games im looking foward pop out to me.
My 'WANT' ever changing category also means that i frequently pass by wishlisted GAs that aren't aligned to my want, unless they're really rare and awesome. Since i like many genres i don't know what my next urge will be nor how long until i come back to a genre - its been almost a year since my last strategy urge for example. Would be rude on my view to win a strategy game today and only touch it god knows when.

My search for games is altering as I increase my steam library (just short of 2k now). I like to look at the giveaways that are about to expire and often use this time to not only put points on the interesting games but also end up putting them on my steam wishlist too :). Next step is to look at the discussions. Am a bit of a lurker and enjoy all the posts, just do not often comment. I only enter for games that I would be happy to play. Last step is to check my wishlist and put points down for those. Lately I have been using the dlc filter thing to bring up dlc for games I already own. Sometimes I run out of points but often have them left over.
Edit: when I do a search for your word (re: answer 1 on ITH I get nothing ?) Was searching in discussions.

Same here...search for insectophobia comes up with nothing. I supposed that the search function doesn't dive into the comments, and that's where this is hidden? Hmmmm...not sure if I'm willing to spend the time to dumpster dive through a bunch of threads looking for a comment with a specific word...
...unless I'm just missing something? But it sounds like I'm not alone, in any case. :)

Bump and meow. I check for GAs with good ratios ending soon. Then my wishlist.

wishlist
some groups
sometimes a few specific people who tend to give good games I've never even heard of
discussions
rarely public. Never won one of those anyway and I only enter for games I really want to play so anything I'd want is kind of buried there. Mostly check it to find out about games I hadn't heard of.

I have hidden all the games that I didn't want to win (currently 8363).
Now I can join all the active giveway because there are not so much left.
100% probability that my wins will pleased me and a lot of time won to not select game I want to enter !

So how many public (listed) giveaways do you have access to?
I just checked and having about 6000 filtered games, I have as Level 4 guy from Poland, about 314 giveaways available (right now).
I guess it's good thread to be made "how many GAs do you have access to?" :D
RIP guys who don't hide their games and have hundreds of pages.

Good idea of thread indeed !
I'm level 3 and with my 8363 games hidden, I have only 33 active giveways right now !
Since I had hidden games, the number of active giveways never overpass 100 or 150 (time when a game or 2 are in a bundle I didn't buy).
So yeah, I'm verry happy to have only one page of giveways, less work to do and more time to read discussions here !

Ending soon ---> ending late
I have hidden games that are uninteresting for me or I wouldn't even "pay" CV for them, wishlisted the ones I'm sure I want or I'm very, very interested about, and I keep the questionable / new ones in the middle. For Example now I see 26 giveaways, 6 from wishlist, but I only enter the ones I'm interested in (likely I'll hide one or more of the 26, if there's anything new that I wouldn't want)

Wishlist, group, very occasionally one that falls in neither category.
Can't remember last time I ran out of points, don't even know if I actually ever have. I guess I have during a sale or so some years ago.
But I hardly enter for anything these days, as I know I probably won't play most of it. Only enter for stuff I gave a fair chance of actually playing once. But it's even rarer for me to actually do so.

Since there are only 2 entries, I make it "public" on forum (no need to pass tests)
It's giveaway for Turkey, Level 1+

I just go through the pages of giveaways tuntil I reach giveaways that end rouglhy in 10 hours.
Firstly I try to look for something Id really love to play and had my eye on.
If not, I check out higher lvl giveaways (for me 3). I remember that I ran out of points all the time when II first registered. But know it happens less.
Only when theres some bundle and everyones unloading good games.
All the little games I don`t even enter.
Could hide them all. But im too lazy. I have hidden only DLC`s I have but that still appear.

Hello.
I was curious about this matter for some time. I tried searching similar thread with no results. So, how do you enter giveaways?
Edit: Please, mention if you do run out of points. (And optionally at what point).
I have to mention, that I hide games that doesn't seem fun at all, looks terrible, are "blacklisted" genre for me, etc. So I only try to have giveaways for games I'd gladly try out and play.
Here's how I do (and I always run out of points):
Variant 1 - Complex
First I enter all wishlist games.
Then I search for discussions-hidden GAs or puzzles.
Next, I browse all public GAs, to search for Poland region only or smaller group exclusives..
Then, I enter GAs from highest level I can reach, but only those GAs that end in 8 or 24 hours (depends how busy I might be).
Logic behind this is, that if I won't be able to access internet, I will still have chance and games I really desire or found interesting enough.
Variant 2 - Simple
I only enter giveaways that will soon expire (less than 24 hours). Prioritizing higher levels first.
Logic behind this is trying to get as many giveaway entries as possible, to increase chances of winning.
Train is hidden behind simple puzzle and Jigidi (don't worry, it's below 100 pieces, I dislike having more to complete).
Road to Train Station
Train starts now with level 2+ and it ends 12 July, 15h CEST.
Train cargo:
(from 10 copies => 1 is whitelist & group exclusive [L1+], 1 limited to Turkey [L1+] [because it's Turkish game], 8 limited only by levels - splitted into 2 for Level 3+, 2 for Level 4+, 2 for Level 5+, 2 for Level 6+)
Take care.
