Hi! About a month ago I made a post here about an accident with my leg. I broke it quite badly, so I had to have a surgery and was told not to walk for like 2 months at least after that. And I was quite depressed to be told not to move for a quite long period of time after having spent half of my life on foot and always being active. (also, just like with that post, I have some more giveaways they are only tier 1 from humblebundle but sadly I can't afford much more right now)

First of all, a big thank you for the support of all of you on that post. And now it is time for a sort of an update. Just yesterday I went to the clinic as usual and I was expecting to be immobile for 3 more weeks or so, and when they did an x-ray all of the expectations were broken. Because it turned out that my ankle, the bone that I've broken at least, has fully recovered in only a month (or 5 weeks to be exact). And now I walk again, with the help of a crutch or a cane, but when I'm home I can just walk slowly even without them. So, my life did another 180 turn on me and now I'm back, I guess.

Thank you for reading this post and have a nice day!

Good to hear it ended up good for you and much better than what you expected! I'm actually having similar problem but bigger I think...
1,5 months ago I fell down onto asphalt because a dog of my neighbours came in front of me out of nowhere while I was running with my dogs. I fell down so badly that I broke probably the strongest human's bone - femoral bone. I got it fixed (I could have gotten endoprosthesis but we didn't got for it) and I couldn't use this leg at all for 3 months... It's already been half of that and I'm feeling better and better but they're saying I have 70% chance to get this leg to "live". Otherwise I'd need another surgery to get endoprosthesis...
I hope you will be as fine as before all this happened! I wish you all the best and a lot of luck, luck and yet more luck (in fact if you had enough, you wouldn't break anything right?)

That's the scariest thing to happen concerning bones, I guess. I've met a guy, who had broken the same bone as you, while I was in the hospital. He had to go through osteosynthesis, just like me, but with his femoral bone. I hope you can use this leg again as soon as possible, and that you won't need any surgery. Thanks and best of luck to you as well!

Yeah, I definitely don't want yet another surgery... Went through brain surgery and one more but small one.... And now the bone. Definitely enough.
Thank you for the good wishes!
PS. And about osteosynthesis - I have had this too! That's what I thought of while saying they "fixed my bone and not given endoprosthesis". So that guy had the same thing as me.

Surgeries are scary, right. I suppose it will be okay, and you won't need endoprosthesis, but at the same time I remember now how that guy in the hospital was talking to the doctor about some kind of prosthesis in his leg, so I'm not sure if he hadn't already had such surgery. Yet again, it was his second time breaking this exact bone, so I guess that could be the case for him, but for you I hope it turns out marvelous and you'll walk again in a month, just like me.

That's great, just make sure not to rush it, I'm still dealing with a knee problem after rushing the recovery

Oh boy, you have some amazing self-regulating forces, and I'm happy that you made such a progress.
Leg or foot injuries are the worst kinds because of the inability to move. Only peeps who experienced it first hand (or first leg) can judge how bad it really is.

Yeah, I was supposing if I was ever to break a leg it would be awful, but still manageable, and now I understand it completely, and it was not exactly what I thought, and now I can tell people that I'm a Wolverine or a one-leg Terminator or something.

Yay! That's cool! Are you going to keep the metal inside your body? :D

I think so. The doctor said if everything is okay and I recover "normally", I mean there won't be any problem with the leg or the metal thing, then I can keep it for the rest of my life, and if there is any inconvenience, I can remove it not sooner than 2020, but I don't think I will, it's okay for me and I feel great so far.

Glad to read that you are getting better. Last summer I suffered a knee injury. I got fracture on the ligament, but my GP told me I have arthritis (great doctor). Fortunately it wasn't a severe and didn't need a surgery, but for two months it was very hard to do my job. Luckily my site supervisor was letting me go earlier from work and my boss didn't make a problem out of it (he is a good person). Hopefully you'll throw away the cane and the crutch soon!

That's one thing I'm afraid with the doctors, that they would tell me something not really true and then make it a lot of trouble for me. I hope that never happens to you again, or someone else.
