Edit3: Thanks for your input guys! I now know what I need. Closing the post. :)

Edit2: Here's my build list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/wiz8

Edit1: ALSO! Any suggestions for 1080 monitors that are under $125 or near that price range?

So this is going to be my first time building a PC (Yay!) and I want to see what you guys think of the parts that I have chosen. Any feedback and/or tips would be appreciated greatly! Oh yeah, I plan to use the PC for playing and recording games at high quality (medium-ultra settings) as well as possibly live streaming. Without further delay, here are the parts.

Intel Core i7-3770k 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor,
Cooler Master Hyper TX3 CPU Heatsink w/ Arctic Silver 5 3.5g Thermal Paste,
ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard,
Corsair Vengeance LP 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory,
A Western Digital Caviar Blue 250GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive for only recording to,
A Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive for everything else,
(I don't need anymore space than 1TB. I have a external 1TB also, if needed ;),
EVGA GeForce GTX 670 2GB "FTW" Edition Video Card,
Cooler Master Storm Trooper ATX Full Tower Case w/ 4 Cooler Master 120mm Case Fans,
Corsair Enthusiast Series TX650 V2 ATX12V 80+ Bronze Power Supply Unit,
Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer,
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit,
Microsoft Sidewinder X4 Wired Gaming Keyboard,
Razer DeathAdder "Black Edition" Gaming Mouse.

Thanks again for any help :D

Looks fine but if you want to save a bit of cash an i5 will do you fine.

Exactly my thoughts.
A i5 3570k would do just fine. And, if you are not into overclocking or don't plan to overclock an normal 3570 would be fine too.

Hmm. I believe that is what I'll go with. Thanks guys!

  1. Intel Core i7-3700k - You can just buy a i5-3570k. You'll only need an i7 if you're doing heavy video editing.
  2. 16GB of ram - Maximum is 8 unless you plan on doing heavy video editing
  3. 650w PSU - Do you plan on having more than one video card? If not just use a 550w one.

Also not too sure on this one but isn't the 7950 better?

Yeah, I think I'll go with the i5-3750k. I do plan on doing some video editing, so I'll stick with 16GBs, and I do plan to have another video card sometime. Thanks for your input!

I believe both are pretty much equal, just the 7950 is cheaper-but I'm more of a nVidia guy. :P

As much as I love Radeon cards the 670 is a heavier hitter, at least in a standardized benchmark. Though, that's dropping some serious bank. I've always found the Radeon x850's to be the best bang for your buck, though I'd assume your fine with dropping that much if you were fine with the i7. I'm still running all games flawlessly on my 6850 and i5.

Well, I'm willing to change parts if there are better alternatives that can pretty much do the same for cheaper. I've switched to the i5-3570K because I don't run heavy processing apps that would require the i7's power. I've found that the 670 FTW is pretty much solid to pay for it, so I'm pretty much fine with it. Although if there are any thoughts, I'll take that into consideration. Thanks again.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130782

It has a $20 dollar mail in rebate and comes with Assassins Creed 3 and Borderlands 2.
$350 (with the rebate) seems to be pretty much the average for this card.

I'm going with the "FTW" Edition. Has both of the games and a $10 rebate.

1.-You can Change your CPU for a i5-3570k
2.-You can use a CoolerMaster ExtremePower 600w PSU. (If you are planing to use more stuff probably a CoolerMaster with 800w)
3.-The MoBo its OK. You can also check the MSI Z77A-G45 is 20dls cheaper and have a lots of good freatures.
4.- Video Card is a wise choise. Theres not big difference between 670 and 680 except $100 bucks... LOL.
5.- You dont need that much RAM. 8GB is just fine.
6.- Also I recomend to you a SSD for quick booting, opening/saving/moving Files.

1: Changing to that
2: My PSU is 650W with 80+ Bronze efficiency, which is fine ATM.
3: I really like this MOBO; has exatly what I need, fine with it ATM also.
4: Yeah, GTX670 "FTW" > 680, basically same thing for cheaper, lol.
5: Took advantage of sales, if price rises, I'll drop to 8GB
6: I was looking at SSDs as the OS/Recording drive, but still unsure. In any case, I'm fine with the speeds of these HDDS.

Thanks for your input!

I'd switch out the thermal paste for something like MX2/4, PK-1, or NT-H1. AS5 is still good but it's not the best anymore.
