Proof? Is there proof that they exist or that they don't exist?

I believe. If two people see the samething at the same time its not a hallucination. Girlfriend and i have seen one and heard it at the same time.

I woke up at 3 a.m, everyone was asleep at home, yet I started hearing steps, after a few minutes, they stopped.
I was thirsty, so I thought "Hey, I should go get some water", and as soon as I got up, I started hearing the steps again. I started walking towards the hallway, it was really dark, and I had to go through it to get to the kitchen.
When I was halfway through the hallway, I heard someone calling my name right behind me, I turned around, it was this sort of... White lady (If you know about ghost stories, I'm pretty sure you've heard of these. And yes, I used to live in a rural area), wearing a wedding dress and carrying a scythe, charging towards me. I screamed and started crying, and so did everyone else at home.
Then, it happened two more times two and four years later, at the same time and day.

And what did everyone else say? Did they ever mention it? Didn't they hear you scream? I need to know everything. :P

I was just about to fall asleep when I felt a hand wrap around my foot. It's fingers felt far to long to be human. Then it pulled me down, I sat up in a really awkward position with my leg through the frame of my bed. I can't explain how I got into that position other than being pulled. I launched myself towards the door and flicked the light switch. No one had gone for the door but the room was empty.
A few years before that I had a bunk bed and one night I looked over the edge (probably just because I was bored) and beneath me was a small person, they were entirely black and had no face or features. After a few seconds of staring at each over (it had no eyes but it was definitely looking at me)the entity walked into the corner of my room and was gone. Maybe I was just seeing things but that is my story.

When I was young, I had a terrible fear of "the blue hand", a ghostly blue hand that lived under the bed. (Or so my imagination had "assumed".)
I once went to bed, and felt a hand grabbing me and pulling me down under the bed. I looked down, and saw "the blue hand", and literally freaked out. This was totally my imagination, though... I must have been 5 years old or so. :P

Just leaving this here too, since it's Kardec's birthday and it has to do with the topic: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spiritism

There's an easy way to tell if your house is haunted:
It isn't... Grow up...
(A cookie for anyone who can tell me what comedian used that in one of his bits in the last 6 years)
PS. I honestly don't believe in ghosts or anything "supernatural" as there is no legitimate scientific proof for it.

Of course I have. But as is the case will all "matters of the unseen," it eventually comes down to the matter of belief.

I had once heard some embodied voice (I watched Ghost Adventures too much lol). It happened when I was a wee lad, playing fighting games with my brothers. It was 12 or 1 am, and we should had been sleeping at the time. About 20 minutes in-game or so, suddenly a deep voice came from outside the front door. It was mentioning "Kum. Kum. Kum. (pronouciantion as in boom)" I got scared shitless, since I had always been a scaredy cat when it comes to paranormal (stories/games/whathaveyou). I looked at my brothers, and both of them heard the voice as well. We immediately shut down the PSX, and run to our sleep. idk what was it really, now I haven't had any encounters and I like to keep it that way.
In Malaysia there's this one type of ghost here the locals called Hantu Kum Kum (literally means Kum Kum Ghost). It's said that they call on some person's house, usually a woman's house and if the resident open their doors to greet them, the ghost'll steal your face.
Now I got scared by my own story by writing it. Dang, I'm such a wimp. Also, my sister is one of those people who can actually see ghosts/demons. I don't even know this until she started moving out of the house due to work.
She had been having a hard time renting places to stay because of this.

Don't know about ghost'N shit but that's the experiences i had with weird stuffs i can't explain.
My stepfather was sick, we put a hospital bed in the living room since we didn't want him to die in a hospital. We used to leave the lights open during the night in case he woke up. The night he died, it was a sunday and the first day of summer holliday. As a fifteen years old teenager enjoying his first day of summer vacation my alarm o'clock who was usually set to ring at 6.30AM was turned off. That day it rang around 7:15AM for no reason, i turned it off and kept sleeping, an hour later my mom calls us as he was dead when she woke up. Also when she woke up the lights were off. We didn't have any pets at that time... It was like 12 years ago.
Fast forward to a few years later i'm in my appartment with my girlfriend at the time, i was sleeping (i always lie on my belly to sleep) and i feel like someone is sitting on my back. I'm awake but i can't move, i know she's besides me I'm trying to call her and get up but i really can't move for a few minutes. Finally i'm able to move. A few weeks after that i dreamt of a guy standing on my bedroom doorframe all soaked only wearing undies with a towel around his neck he tells me he used to live thr... My lease was over not long after, I moved out and never had that thing ridding my back or dreamt of this dude afterwards.
I'm sure (or want to belive there's a rationnal explanations behind these but so far i haven't had any.

Second one sounds like sleep paralysis. Happened to me a few times, always when extremely tired, often unpleasant.

No ghost stories, but I did have a slightly odd experience once with a PC monitor. No, not like that, for any of you dirty minded ones out there.
One day, quite a few years ago now, I was happily gaming away on the PC when all of a sudden, for no reason at all, the thought spontaneously popped into my head "Wouldn't it be cool if we could turn on/off/manipulate technology just by thinking about it?". I didn't think it out word for word exactly like that, didn't have time to, but the whole thought just suddenly appeared, if that makes sense.
Right at that precise moment, a fully functioning monitor with no previous faulty history of any kind switched itself off, the PC remaining on. Nothing to indicate a power surge or anything of the sort. I stared blankly at the screen for a moment or two before reaching out and pressing the power button, and the screen came straight back to life showing no ill effects whatsoever. Never had anything like that happen before or since, but it did make me briefly ponder a few things (and occasionally attempt to recreate the scenario, always without success).

It happened to me once, except I wasn't thinking about it. My screen just switched off while I was typing. Turns out I pushed my keyboard slightly while typing, and it pressed the screen's power button located under my monitor. Maybe something similar happened. ;)

There's quite probably a logical reason behind it, but it won't be that - the keyboard and mouse were on one level of a desk, the monitor raised up on the higher level, a full arm's reach away.
It's hard to explain exactly how brief and spontaneous the thought was, but I was looking at the monitor (in fact, my eyes gravitating towards the power button), one hand on the mouse, the other resting on my lap, the thought appeared then poof, off it went.

I remember that a few years ago, when I was 11, I woke up around 2 am just to drink some water. While I was in the kitchen drinking water I saw something white running from the bathroom to my bedroom, I said 'hm, my mind is bored and it's playing with me' then I went back to my room to sleep. Around 3-4 am I started to feel that something was over my belly, that it was pushing me to the bed, like trying to take all the air out of my lungs. I started to feel the need of air, the feeling of something over became bigger and bigger, it was hurting me while I was sleeping, so I screamed so loud that even the neighbors heard it and my dogs entered running to my room to see what happened. I heard the sound of my dogs running, I heard my neighbors talking outside about the scream, I felt my mom touching my neck to see if I was sick, but I never woke up till it was time to go to school.
It was the weirdest and scariest night ever

Nah...
But this one time...
It was a night like any other, I'd stayed up a bit later than usual I suppose, most everyone else in the house had already gone to bed, so ya'know, once I was done on the computer I went to go get ready for bed myself.
It was most likely 1 or 2 AM, I started down the hall, reached around the wall of the bathroom to flick on the lights in there and I felt something on my hand...
I quickly pulled away, not even bothering to flip on the light because I didn't know what the heck it was...
I look down just as a spider maybe half the size of my fist plops down onto the floor, sits there for a second before scrurrying back, deeper into the bathroom, I closed the door and began to freak out.
It's safe to say, I did not want to use the bathroom for the rest of the night.

Ah, well the kitchen light was on, it was still pretty dim in the hallway, but it was still light enough to be able to see.

Once when I was just a kid and I had just woken up, I saw a "ghost" of my father walking in front of my bed for about 2 seconds(who is not dead). It really freaked me out how vivid it was. Yes it was white, transparent and faded away. I was probably still half dreaming since it only faded when I got really agitated.

At the place I work, for some fucked up reason we have a bathtub supporting machinery that a woman killed herself in a while back. Late at night you can hear doors slam and chairs scrape across the floor in the upstairs. It's actually pretty creepy.
