Thanks for the heads up. Been loving Origins from the monthly. I know Unity is different so when I finish Origins I can try that one.
No, I can try it even before. :P

Notre Dame in Unity is perfect. I only realized that after seeing the pics after the fire. It made me feel like I've been there, because I have. That's how perfect it is. Makes me really happy they're gonna use the game to help reconstruct the building.

Yeah they really did an amazing job with the old lady. I must admit that with the game having average reviews, the only thing that made me pick it up was the possibility of scaling the Cathedral.
I was wondering if they'd do anything but that's really a cool move.

And the nice thing about Unity is that due to public outrage about the state the game was in when it was released they scrapped the Season pass and made the only big DLC "Dead Kings" (which adds a new town with a huge catacomb network beneath) free.
They also fixed the game since then. When I played it on console roughly a year after release I barely encountered any bugs.

Heads up that the DLC seems to be on a good sale. I apparently own two of them (I guess from the AC Humble Bundle way back?) but the two I don't own are 70% off. I would guess the two I do have are the same, but I don't see an apparent way to check on the Ubi launcher.
The base game is also free on the launcher, if the site ends up not working right for anyone.

The story is lacking direction but other than that it's pretty decent.
Also it's the only AC where you can do missions with up to 4 players in coop.

How much co-op content is there?

Well, first the bad news: The normal story missions are not playable in coop but you probably already knew that.
But there are 2 types of coop missions and quite a few of them. (According to GameFAQs there are 18, apparently split into 11 Brotherhood missions and 7 heists.
Brotherhood missions are the "good" ones. They have a little bit of story and are also more complex (while still not as good as the main story missions). I remember i.e. my buddies and I having a good chuckle about "The Austrian Conspiracy".
"The filthy Austrians are standing in front of Paris." I might be paraphrasing there :D
Heists are more generic, without much story context and with randomized elements for replayability. They'll have you infiltrate an area and break into one or several chests, ideally undetected.
Edit: If I remember correctly both Brotherhood missions and Heists are set up so you can also play them solo but it might be harder to finish them elegantly and probably also less fun.

This was a nice gesture from Ubisoft. Sure it's good PR for them as well, but their intention is noble. I was probably gonna get Origins in the monthly bundle anyway but this is a little extra encouragement.

This made me laugh so hard - Horrible joke, but a good one nevertheless. :D

For some reason this old cutscene popped up in my mind upon seeing that.
