So i just got an email from "noreply@steampowered.com" , that looks legit but it OF COURSE isn't as the mail was asking my account credentials , so if you get a "Your personal info expired." mail DO NOT click on it and just ignore it!

They don't need any info about your account remember that.If anyone is asking your account detail don't trust them.

no company will ever ask for any info after you gave it to them. It's not new, and it should not be said. You can't teach common sense, some people just need to learn it the hard way.

I know that a lot of people made similar threads, but it's better avoid these kind of scams instead of increasing them, maybe someone google the mail and find this thread and he doesn't get scammed or sh*t like that?

Either you learn it the hard way, or you read documentation, common sense just doesn't apply here.

E-mail addresses can be spoofed and made to look like the message came from a specific address when in fact it did not.

It's hard, because it's always possible to detect when the e-mail is fake and email providers will throw it in the spambox, but sometimes it hits the inbox and yeah, impersonating is possible.

Frist of all if you view RAW message source look for the line "Received: from" it should have the real deal valvesoftware.com or steampowered.com (Domain Name & IP address) this just one way to spot fake email.
Just like today I rev a fake Amazon Promotional Credit what an idiots that person was.
Here how to read email message source

But they also want my first born. Told me to drop it off in the "Care Box" which looks like a dumpster, in an alley behind this new "Valve Store" in the slums... it's legit, right guys?
