GMG's Orange Box promo - is it worth it?

$5 for Half Life 2, episode 1 & 2 plus portal and TF2 (which is free now).
Is it worth it to get this package for the $5 price tag, or should I just get the Half-life 2 (priced at $2.5), or am I better off trying to find individual games for sale (have they been sold for really big discounts/bundles?).

Edit: Went ahead and bought it. Thanks for the advices!

doesnt stack with credits either, I bought the box just for portal, half-life 2 is pretty nice addon

Orange box was my second or third purchase on Steam. I've bought for the full price. It went -75% the next day.

I was young and didn't know better. I learned my lessons the hard way.

I got mine like 6 years ago at 10$ on a retail store, totally worth it. Also I'm prtty sure it will give you TF2 premium.

Everyone should own the Orange Box, the value for every game included is insane + you do get Premium TF2 so it gives you more stuff in TF2.

Also not sure if you still get it but when I first added Orange Box to my Steam account I got the duplicate games I had as "Gifts" in my inventory.

It will give you DOUBLE PREMIUM!!! It unlocks playing as Saxton Hale and adds Tactical Fedora to the possible drop list!

Actually i bought orange box this summer and even when steam told me several times that i wont recieve a portal gift i did XD no idea if it was a glitch or anything but i had it on my inventory for a while until i traded it on steamtrades

Not Portal. I didn't get a Portal copy even though I had it before activating. I got extra 2x Episode 1, 1x Episode 2 & 1x Half-Life 2 though.

Completely worth it! I got San Andreas from the top 20 but if you don't already own The Orange Box buy it, cause you won't regret it.

Okay guys, another question: Orange box or Bioshock Infinite? I want to buy them from my creds, so only one of them.
I'm starting to thing about only the Box, as Bioshock I. would be cheaper with season pass if I wait for the winter sale (no rushing here; cheaper price is more important than asap game). Any thoughts?

Even if you ignore TF2, you get 4 games for $5. That's $1.25 a game for some of Valve's best work... How is it even a question?

I think you get a gift copy of Portal when you activate the Orange Box if Portal is already on your account.

Ah. I knew that two games from The Orange Box gave extras and that one of them was HL2, but I mixed Portal up with HL2:EP1.

It's $2.50 more for Ep 1 + Ep 2 + Portal (if you ignore TF2 premium.)

Definitely worth the extra.

I'm not entirely sure, but I do know that they've run out of items on the previous top 50 sales, so there's a possibility of the game you want being out before the sale is actually over.
