I have been hearing a lot of buzz about the upcoming summer sale. Is it really that good or is it the same as ever other steam sale?

Each day some games are on sale, you can get achievements for some games and earn the special sale currency.....for this currency you can buy dlc, games an that stuff...moste games on sale are combined with the games achivements you need for the currency...

i think 50% of the games are a great and cheap sale...if you own a lot of the game fpr the achiements you gain a lot of the curreny and can use this to buy a lot of things...

whatever...summersale is a great event and offer a lot of fun =)

Steam will pick random? achievement from the daily deal and you will have to get it. The reward were coupons (if I remember) and you could buy games/dlc/etc for them.

The achievements for the Steam events are usually entirely new ones made specifically for the event.

So like the coal for the Christmas event but you can (or could) buy games? I thought with the coal stuff you collected it then crafted it for a random deal of the day game or a discount coupon OR kept it for the big raffle at the end OR traded it?

Yeah, most games are reduced in price, even if by a small margin, but if you're lacking money, then its better to save for the summer sale and just stock up on cheaper games that'll last you to the next sale.
I usually buy roughly 15-30 games each sale, and most are still unplayed in my library, (mostly due to exams).

Yes, by all means YES! Tons of games at half or quarter the price. And also there's always some kind of chance to win free games.

It is, lots of games go down to -50% at least! Besides the Winter Sale, it's the hugest sale on Steam per year!

the sales itself arent no better than what sales you see all year long. they're just all there at the same time

the achievement stuff though usually makes it interesting

Some of them are actually better during the seasonal sales

Yup, some crazy deals happen.

But some of them are better when they're on the daily deal or weekend. My general rule of thumb is that if it's 75% off or better then it's likely to get a better sale later.
