isn't that the standard price in the US for AAA games & they get brought so they seem to think it's worth it for them

It depends on your preferences. I won't pay for a multi fps, because I don't like and play that genre. I would play it for a good RTS, RPG or MMORPG, if it gives me long, long and enjoyable hours of gameplay. I'm a WoW subscriber since 2005, so I already paid more for a game :D

If it's only multiplayer and without single player and a storyline, then no, it's not worth it. But still, I wonder if there are any games that deserve this price. I really think that 60 dollars are too much for ANY game. And here, in Europe, we usually have to pay 60 euros, which is more than 60 dollars. So, you should actually buy it from a trader or a key site.

Yes if 60$ buys me a full game and all the future content.
No if you pay 60$ for a base game and all the future content is in 50$ season pass.

$60? Hell no. $30? I might consider it if the game looks really interesting and the dev has a good track record.

generally speaking... No. But it depends on the game and the community for that game.

One of my first decent ping pong bats cost me a bit over $60, so... I'd say "yes".

Depends on the game, and on you. A good multiplayer game has the potential to offer far more quality game time than a good single player game, but most multiplayer games have a relatively short lifespan.

Not to mention they are filled with hackers and cheaters today which is why I don't even bother anymore. Give me a good single player over multiplayer any day!

That would depend on the game. I've for an example yet to run into a hacker or cheater in DOTA 2, Heroes of the Storm, StarCraft 2 or CS:GO. Not saying that they don't exist in those games, but they are at least very very rare. In my experience, hackers & cheaters was a far bigger problem 10 years ago. I only think I've managed to run into 2 cheaters in the last 4 or so years (then again, I do play more SP games than MP games).

No. Between 15 and 30 bucks depending on the game. Not because of the lack of SP but to maintain a healthy community when talking about numbers.

Depends how good the game is, if it has been well made and offers a lot to the player, can be $60 worth but multi only is a bit shitty you need to be able to put bots in something to replace people makes a game more future proof =P but I have to say no not knowing any details on a game about from being multiplier only. to be noted i have never spend 60USD on any game it is to rich for my income, hard to validate spending such money on a game :(

Yep, worth it. MP adds hundreds of hrs of gametime.

SP on the other hand...usually just a few hrs.

Well for me the first thing I look at while buying a game in steam, is to see whether it has multiplayer support or not.
So yeah I think a game with only single player isn't worth it but with multiplayer, if it has an active player base ofc, it's totally worth it.

I'm strict on budget, so that only If I think I'll be playing it for A LOT of hours, then I'll spend the money. But this applies to all games, not just online games.
In short: 98% no.

hundreds hours of in-game time, no micro transactions, free updates (fixes/maps/skins/etc) & keeps me interested, sure I would pay 60$. Games like Battle Front or Evolved are a big no no.

If the game has potential to last, it might be worth the price. If it dies within a couple months, then I wouldn't say it's worth that much.

There are thousands of multiplayer-only games collecting dust because no one plays anymore. You can always blow the dust from your old Civilization 2 CD and still have lots of fun, but that's not the case with Battlefield 1942 anymore.

Sounds like ... #OVERWATCH
Or a #BATTLEFRONT
I think,it's okay, even tho I live in a "not rich" country =d
But I really enjoyed CS:GO ( Multiplayer only) which is 10$ here, and I could pay more for it, I'm thinking about buying TES:Online for 25-30$ for now so WHY NOT.

NO.

Look at the Call of Duty series. Yeah, yeah, there's a single player campaign, but nobody is playing CoD for a rail shooter where you can't even choose your weapons.

Anyway, we're talking about a game that debuts at around $60 (more if you buy some ultra super gold deluxe limited special edition); has vastly overpriced DLC, so that $60 is just the tip of the iceberg; and the second the sequel comes out, which may be within a year, everyone playing multiplayer will jump to the new game, leaving you with a game that isn't worth jack because you can't play it.

And do they ever go on sale? Pffft. The only one that I've seen really get a sale price that isn't insulting is Ghosts, which virtually everyone said was shit to begin with. Maybe you might see 5-10 measly dollars off a CoD game, after its sequel has already been out for months. And, frankly, if the sequel is out you'd might as well save your money and buy that game, because the MP community (CoD's only community) will have already moved on. The DLCs go on sale as rarely as the base game and for a discount that's just as miserably small a percentage off the price as the base game ever goes on sale.

The only time CoD even approaches being worth the money is the month it comes out, because you might get a window of a year to play it before everyone drops it... but you'd better hope you don't rush to buy it and find out it's crap or performance issues in the PC port make it unplayable, even on top level rigs. In that case, you just flushed your money down the toilet.

No. Seriously I'm one of those people who despect CoD but some years ago bought Black Ops 2 for 20 euros and was worth it (let's face it CoD is practically multiplayer) but would have never paid 60 euros for it, it's too expensive. However I also have to admit that the game could be fun and paying 60 euros would be tempting.

I know that feeling.. I bought TItanfall for 15 euros when they made the season pass free...

Is the game fun? Yes! Is the game worth $60? Not a chance.

And then add the problem that if t's mp only it could end empty after a few years. That thing happens with Titanfall according to my friend, he plays it because it still has players, enough to fill a match but not as much as in the beggining.
