How can you know if it's not kinda fakemaker but a trustful guy who have already created giveaways and has a 100% "received" feedback?

He's talking about the guy who wins the giveaway, not the guy who makes it.

There must be some record of you owning and trading the game. I for example have all my receipts for games sent to my email, that might be a good start. Proving that, at one time you did at least own it.
it would also say something like: "Thank you for your recent gift purchase on Steam. Your gift has been associated with your steam account."

I have my email receipt of the 4-pack Monday Night Combat, one copy was for myself, the other 2 I sent to friends (listed in my gifts/passes list). The last one was the one i "gave" him by trade. I don't think Steam keeps trade records, the same way the don't keep chat logs.

Go to your profile > View Inventory > View Inventory History
Or: http://steamcommunity.com/id/cloudst69/inventoryhistory/
That should show you who it was traded to.

Yeah, it shows. But apparently he used another account (using the same avatar and information). I know it was a noob mistake of mine, but i guess there's nothing I can do now.

They've changed their info already. It wasn't the winner, someon-oh, Corp explains it better, right beneath me. I've been asking to have the winner/submitter info hidden, but the admin has been busy. So, we ask that people send it only to the email provided by the site.

some people who got scammed got their gift back.. dont worry.

You didn't get scammed by the winner of the giveaway, you got scammed by someone pretending to be him. Happens a lot. Scammers see User X has won Game Y, they change their name and avatar to match the winner and trick the person hosting the giveaway into trading the game or sending to a different email.
Granted, it sucks, but just want to clarify the winner of your game did not scam you.

Yeah the whole story about "my girlfriend cant redeem it if you send it to the email address listed should have been your biggest clue." all he had to do was open the email and redeem and let her redeem it with her steam account. Gifts sent by email have do not have to be linked to a steam account and they are not forced to go to the email of the account they are linked to.

"So I just joined Steamgifts.com about a couple of hours ago, "
Which is more than enough time to have read the FAQ, and made oneself aware of how they could be scammed. And the biggest thing on this forum about it? WHY ISN'T CG MAKING SURE WE CANNOT BE SCAMMED? FFS, if people refuse to read, then idiot-proofing things around here won't help.

Gosh, you're such a helpful member of this community, what with the treating new contributors like shit.
Comment has been collapsed.
How very mature. Why are you here, again? Other than to berate contributors, I mean.
Comment has been collapsed.
How is that even remotely related to you being inappropriately rude?

How do you even remotely think I was being inappropriate? I'll quote this for you, again, oh simple one: "Seriously. If you don't read the FAQ, you will look like a fool, and people will berate you. Justly so." ---CULT
Paraphrased, for your convenience: "...*people will berate you. Justly so."
Justly
So.

Just because you have permission to be a dick doesn't mean you have to be one. By the way, how much have you actually contributed to this community?
Comment has been collapsed.
No, I don't have to be. Just like I don't have to gift anything to this community. Great point. Which you then contradict with your insinuation that I somehow have to meet a specific dollar amount to have any validity to my point. To date, I've given more $$ in games externally than I have through this site's giveaway mechanism.
By the by, I seem to have contributed more to this community than the majority of it's members. Not that I hold that against any of them. That's just one way in which I'm a better person than you.

And yet you believed you were worth mine. Which is fine... I also felt you were worth my time. But looking at your last comment, I guess I was wrong. That's called arrogance, which you've clearly demonstrated prior to your attempts to bait me into some sort of rage argument. Again, this is one way in which I am a better person than you.

I dont understand how you got scammed was it not the right guy? you said you checked him?
Comment has been collapsed.
He probably meant that he only checked that the user name and profile picture matched that of the winner. Anyone can change their Steam profile name to someone else's, and several gifters on this have fallen for that old trick, unfortunately.
Also, another rule to point out that would've been violated by that false story is that you're not supposed to enter giveaways for anyone else. Doesn't matter if it's "for your girlfriend."

The mistake was mine, but I hope the admins of SteamGifts change some things, like showing the winner only to the giveaway owner, at least until the winner confirms receiving the gift. With this a lot of trouble could be avoided. But for now, trust no one, send the gift to the winner's email ONLY. Happened once with me, not gonna happen again.

Send to an e-mail address ONLY.
You're stupid if you don't do this. Stop trusting STRANGERS on the internet.
Fuck.

So I just joined Steamgifts.com about a couple of hours ago, and created this giveaway:
http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/LGLSS/monday-night-combat
As soon as it ended, the winner added me up on Steam (I checked the account, it was him).
He said he already had the game (i just found out that you can't enter a giveaway if you already have the game, too late unfortunately) and wanted to give to his gf, but couldn't do it if i sent to his email/account. Then he opened a trade window, and i innocently gave the gift through trade. I checked the "I sent this gift box" and he said he checked the confirmation. But it never happened, so I started suspecting. At this point he already deleted me from Steam friend's and blocked me probably. Then i realised he didn't have the game by checking his account ( http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197995743667 ) and i probably made a fool of myself.
I don't get it. The person should be happy for winning a free game, and still wants to take advantage of that? What kind of sucker does that?
Unfortunately I just realized all this when it was too late, i wish i had taken some SSs of the chat at least, to show you guys I'm telling the truth. I hope no one falls for this cheap trick again, and hopefully this sucker gets what he deserves.
