quite a few of these have store pages on Steam with TBD or 2020 listed as their release dates, so it's just the typical timed exclusivity to wait out, nothing permanent.

Also a lot of these aren't egs exclusives, being available on other stores as well (just not steam). I know the post doesn't say "exclusives", but it may give this impression. Quite a few of the games here are actually available on xbox game pass.

"The Coming Soon titles aren't available ANYWHERE"
When these games are released, they will be EGS exclusives/timed exclusives or will not be available on the Steam for some time

ESG needs some work. They /just/ added wishlists.

I'm glad for the competition, even if it means exclusive titles. Timed or not. I'm glad developers have a choice where to publish. I hope the exclusive bonuses are great.

Without good competition, Valve starts to take a larger and larger cut of profits, making it harder and harder for Developers to turn profits for niche or indy titles. The harder it is for developers to make $, the less attractive the industry is. The less attractive the industry is, the fewer people try game development as a career, which leads to lower quality games (and so on and so on).

Sure, it sounds like a slippery slope, but just look at internet and cable TV quality vs pricing.

Competition is a good thing. I'll buy games wherever the developers think they're likely to make the best profit.

I still don't understand all the hate, but EGS is a good oportunity for early access indie games with a promising future. Like "Hades".

For me, Control, Borderlands, Metro and Outer Worlds were the only ones they took that I wanted. Got both Metro and Outer Worlds for $1 on game pass. Will wait for Borderlands and Control to be dirt cheap on Steam. Fuck epic.

Samsho has already lost traction in the fighting game community and it coming exclusively for epic unless they have crossplay with ps4 is basically a death sentence which is kinda sad.

Its almost like the devs / publishers have no sense at all. Its better to get a steady stream that lasts longer on a bigger community than to get a 'big cut' upfront and kill your game.
In a year no one will bother, because there will be other games...same goes for everything else on EGS

Well, either that...or you are misjudging the situation. Maybe devs and publishers more or less know what they're doing. Games that release on Epic seem to sell quite well. When they have their second release on Steam they can also sell pretty well. Look at Borderlands 3. From what I recall it had a great run on Epic with a few million copies sold, and after that also a great start on Steam. People buy and play it there as well. So, again, maybe those silly publishers have a little more sense for the situation than random guys on a gaming forum like we are. At least most of the time. ;)

You should probably change the title to 'Not on Steam right now'
Because they all come to Steam, always on their knees, grovelling with discounts

I know right? A misleading list is an almost useless list, now we have to cross check tites ourselves anyways to make sure the titles we're looking at is a proper EGS-"exclusive" or if they have a Steam page or are on another platform.

Paranoia: Happiness is Mandatory has a Steam page, it's another timed exclusive.
Ubisoft titles shouldn't make the list either, they're always going to be on Uplay as well - breaking the definition of "exclusive".

Probably not, hadn't seen the price yet, but I assumed they wouldn't ask such a ridiculous price. Ah well, it doesn't matter now anyway.
