Probably Not What You Were Expecting.... [GIVEAWAY ENDED]

I was going to make a giveaway because I've been on steam for nine years, but it seems I misread the number. (I must have been either asleep or needing my glasses.) No matter, I've already made the giveaway, so it's a done deal. I wanted to do things a bit differently, however. Some giveaways favor those with lots of money (high contribution value), some favor those with specialized knowledge (hidden links), some require the right friends (group giveaways) or esoteric knowledge (most puzzle giveaways), still others favor those who are quick (F5 giveaways). To change things up a bit, I've decided to make a new kind of giveaway. There is no specialized knowledge required, and you don't have to be especially talented or gifted to enter. All you really need to win is the ability to be patient and pay close attention.

This giveaway will be Spec Ops: The Line. There still seem to be some people out there who want this game, so that is what I'm giving away. Depending upon how many people actually manage to enter, your chances of winning may be pretty good. Then again, I may be under-estimating the attention span of the SteamGifts community. We shall see.

Oh, by the way, the giveaway will last through Tuesday morning (1000am PDT). IT HAS BEGUN!

GIVEAWAY ENDED ---

I hope you all enjoyed this "new" style of giveaway. I call it the "hunter giveaway." It's fairly simple to do: Make a giveaway, announce it, then slip its five-character SG code in at a later date. In this case, I chose to place the quarry in the same thread announcing the giveaway after half the time had passed. All you needed to do to find it was review the thread. In the end, we had 13 entries.

Variations on this style of giveaway may include posting the code in another person's thread, or leaving a "trail" through various other threads with each successive comment leading to the next. The idea is to reward the patient "stalker" with the giveaway code, so the code should be simple to find for someone reading carefully. I am thinking that I might make the inclusion of "Moon Moon" references a customary part of such giveaways.

Anyhow, depending upon the feedback you all give me, I may make another "hunter giveaway" in the (hopefully) not-too-distant future. D
