This is time around, you can pick another game besides the Avengers game plus the season pass. Otherwise, this is repeats galore.

https://www.bundlestars.com/en/promotions/lego-pick-mix

EDIT: I almost forgot, you can add an additional 11% discount by using the Black Friday coupon (BLACKFRIDAY11), in other words, $8,89 / €9,78.

EDIT 2: Also, thanks to Rachellove for the previous information, which I used as template. The only thing lacking is the raChart, which I don't know how to do.

EDIT 3: You can make the deal even better if you pick manually two copies of LEGO Marvel's Avengers, plus something else. Thanks, madjoki!

EDIT 4: RaChart added. Thanks, Sighery!

Change in VAT rules makes everything digital 21% more expensive.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

That is absolutely false. Now VAT is paid according to buyers country when seller is within EU.

Before it was paid according to sellers country if within EU and buyers country if seller outside EU*. (since 2004)
This is why Valve made EU branch to handle sales to EU customers and deprecated it with tax change.
Now it handles just physical purchases. (Don't know if there's tax benefits there).

This means increase in paid taxes is generally less than 4%, if seller was in Luxembourg.

If seller is elsewhere like UK (eg. Bundestars), it means actually less taxes, more for site.

Bundlestas also moved to use one tax inclusive price after this, instead of having price change between EU states,
so they can pocket benefit themselves instead of giving customer smaller prices. (In some countries VAT is more, but UK is on high-end)

  • While this was rule, questionable is how much it was enforced, especially smaller sites may just have skipped.

Did not realise Bundlestars is UK based. Difference is still the same. They can sell without tax to most countries outside the EU and have to pay 21% when selling within the EU. Which explains why the price in Euro's is higher than the price in dollars.

they don't pay 21% expect for UK buyers, other countries have VAT 7%-28%.

Most digital pricing are VAT inclusive, which means site(and publisher) benefits when low VAT customers buy and doesn't benefit when max VAT purchases.

We are both right but talking from 2 perspectives. I originally reacted to the question of PraiseRhllor not understanding why the price in dollars is so much lower. That's because buying from outside EU (in dollars) means no taxes, buying from within the EU means taxes up till as high as 28%.

Mostly it's just US not having effective way to collect taxes. EU tries hard to collect taxes from every digital purchase (and physical, which is easier). Even within US, it's quite rare to pay taxes at all.

Lucky Americans. Well we have better consumer rights. You can't have it all I guess.

Most of time VAT inclusive & US non-tax are same $1=1€ because of this. 1€=$1 mean that publisher gets actually from € than from $. Even though we pay more. (And much less on sites like Humble Bundles / Widgets / Store partially that sell in $ to EU and use it as tax inclusive price.)

GOG has interesting choice as they give you perceived difference as credit, in hopes you spend more in future.

Best system for these things sofar is using VPN.

Comment has been collapsed.

Yup. I mostly purchase from Canada as it tends to be cheapest (although, more recent bundles are not). But don't tell BundleStars.

It's hard to control VPN usage, but technically it's violation of EU laws to allow VPN purchases to bypass country check. (not allowed to rely on IP-address for tax control)

Never checked Canada not even sure how to. I was never clever enough to find out how to use VPN until I wanted to make a bigger purchase (to me $ 20 is very big) and tried to find an American host for the bundle. Someone was friendly enough to explain to me how to do it (extremely simple) and buy it directly myself. Should have done that way earlier as it always gives me a bad feeling to pay much more than others.

IMHO, 10 dollars is a nice deal for LEGO Marvel's Avengers and the season pass, considering those haven't been bundled before, besides, I also picked the season pass for LEGO Batman 3. I'd say the Avengers and the season pass is the highlight of the bundle. The rest... repeats galore.

BTW, is 11 euros the actual price for the bundle in Europe? If so, can please someone confirm?

Avengers and Season Pass were included the last time this bundle returned, so actually this is the second time. Being the newer game that has not gotten the level of store discount of the others, it is definitely the most notable highlight though. This only really seems like a good deal if you go for those (probably with Jurassic World), otherwise not so much.

It's also only worth it if you will play it right away. LEGO games tend to get big discounts pretty fast, so if you're not going to play it right away, you're better off just waiting.

I selected three games and then added the bundle to my cart. Then I went to the cart and deleted one of the games. Then I went to the store page for Lego Avengers and added that to my cart on it's own. Then I went back to my cart and was still getting the bundle price even though I had two Marvel Avengers in there. Then I applied the discount code for extra savings and purchased.
