The RPG Treasury is not recruiting at the moment.

Do you love RPGs? Do you feel compelled to pack your bag, weapons, shield, armour, kiss your wife and kids goodbye because you can't resist the call of the wild? Or do you simply like pretending you do? Then this group is for you!
Created years ago, we specialise in RPGs. We talk about them and give some away. We have been through many changes but have survived.

Joining requirements

  • You must be an RPG fan! (Your Steam library and playtime should reflect that)
  • You must be level 3+
  • Your general given/won ratio must be over 1 (both in terms of gifts and value)
  • In good standing regarding sent GAs, activated wins and no trade/VAC bans
  • Meeting all the criteria doesn't mean you'll automatically be accepted.

The group rules

  • Participate in the discussions as much as you can.
  • Be active on SG. (you must log in at least once a month)
  • Don't leech. (I'll be the judge of that)

If you want to join

  • Write a comment explaining why you'd like to be in the group and how you plan to contribute. And "I love RPGs" is not enough...
If you don't do that, I'll just ignore your post. (⇀‸↼‶)

If you are accepted

  • I will send you a friends invite and will talk you through the first steps.

If you guarantee you can give ROW gifits (since you're form Russia), why not?

Shouldn't it be 'given/won ratio" instead of "won/given' in Joining requirements? :p because now it means that you have to win more than you've given which is based on luck of participant :D just asking, that question is kind of bothering me :P not applying due to that, but if it's mistake you might want to know ;)

Hi,
I'm mostly into action rpgs, and also Evoland 2 and FF9 are sitting in my backlog, so I have my rpg dose for a few weeks at least, for sure, but I'd like to join the group and see what the members share if it's not too crowded yet ! Thanks anyway ! :)

Does Dark Souls count as a RPG?
Also, I like Planescape and the early Fallout games. The witcher series is pretty awesome as well. I actually do like the Witcher 1; the combat isn't quite as good as its successor, but there is a lot of content and lore. Never played witcher III though.
Shadowrun was ok, but not as good as what was in the 90s.

Does SG count as a pay2win MMORPG? I've spent quite a bit of time grinding XP on SG in recent months =/

Apart from that, I do love RPGs, though I played most of them outside Steam (and I've been leaning towards shorter point-and-click/VN type games recently because busy) so it doesn't show on my Steam profile =P

I never thought about it that way. But in this case, life itself is a pay2win MMO(ffline)R(eal)P(ainful)G(rind).

I like RPG genge more than any. I've been playing games since I was a child and although I can not play all the new games now because of weak PC, but I still enjoy repeating old classic games.

Can you get ROW games or are you limited to RU ones?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yes I can get ROW gifts and activate them. But when I buy games in Steam, on some there's a regional block, for some there's not, therefore I create giveaways only for Ru + CIS, in order to avoid misunderstandings

In our group, you can only give ROW games so if that's a problem, I'm afraid that's too big a problem.

This works in one direction. I can get everything outside of my region, but I can not give out what I bought outside of my region. As far as I know, this is how it works. As you judge, so it will be.

Hello. I think I'd like to join.

As for your requirements:

  • You must be level 4+: I'm lvl 86.
  • Your general given/wonratio must be over 1: I believe i'm at 273/199 currently
  • You must love RPGs!: 37 y/o lifelong gamer. From Phantasy Star to Binding of isaac, I love RPGs and games in general.

Do you do many events or active in chat and the like?

As added note. Some RPGs I'm playing now/recently:

  • Zelda Breath of the Wild (Wii-U). Slowly going through it. Trying to savor it, and not rush through it. Trying to 100% it without guides or help.
  • Guild Wars 2. Always going back now and then, to experience the new story content.
  • Suikoden V: Picked this up last year, just getting around to playing it now that i have some extra free time.

Level 4 is on SG, not on Steam (but you're lvl6 so you're good to go)
We haven't organised any events yet but we might once the group is large enough.
As to chat, I'm there regularly but I do feel alone.

I love RPGs. But your giveaway rules are based around steam tags? User-voted tags that are typically inaccurate as hell that prefer to describe some games as "Female Protagonist" "Funny" and "Dinosaurs" rather than "First person shooter" even if it is a first person shooter? That seems a little....unreliable. Why not use the game's ACTUAL genre? What if someone wants to giveaway an RPG but the community has decided it's not an RPG it's an "Early Access" "PvP" "Memes" "Violent" "Cute"? Also..

"Games worth 10P or less must have a minimum rating of 80% and 50+ reviews." What if they're 80% positive with key reviews included but since steam changed it a month or two ago those aren't included in the final score anymore? How do you decide that? Because a game can have 32 reviews indicating a 60% score according to the page, but then 100+ key reviews, 90% of which are positive. If you ignore the keys the game doesn't meet your review number requirement OR the score, even though the game does in fact have both.

Just curious, really. I'm not actually interested in joining so I understand if you completely ignore this, but you've left me puzzled on how your group functions in these scenarios.

The group is based around user-voted tags and while some games are really borderline on not being RPGs, they have the merit to generate activity. That's just easier to check a GA is valid that way.
The rating we look at is the overall one. I know Steam changed those rules but I don't think the rating with keys included is calculated anymore anywhere so we have to make to with that. And if that means games get excluded, then that's too bad. Me and two other officers have to check each GA manually so they must be easy to verify.

Actually, looking more closely at the huge difference in quality between the games you've given away (mostly bundle trash) and the games you've won (mostly good expensive games), I'm not sure it's a good idea.

Way too many rules and stipulations for me, but good luck getting the member numbers you want. I just put 150 plus hours into Breath of the Wild and still have Horizon Zero Dawn and Mass Effect Andromeda to play now x.x

Well, the rules are there to prevent leechers yet still generate positive activity.
I guess you could say it's a group aimed RPG players and not just RPG collectors. That's why, there's not activity requirement, except to fix your in-group ratio.
And thanks for the bump.

Oh yeah, I understand why the rules are there. I just don't think they're very good guidelines. Mostly, the whole 'game must be over x percent ratings'. There's plenty of great games that are below that 80 percent threshold, and it seems arbitrary to limit a title based on biased user scores.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yes, it is arbitrary but it has been discussed and considering the history of the group and the abuse of certain (past) members, that limitation was necessary.

Yeah, I wouldn't know anything about the abuse side of things since I wasn't there.
