I highly doubt the dev had anything to do with this. Most likely the account was hijacked.

I haven't been paying attention, but i just looked through the discussions on the community hub for the game and it doesn't seem like any progress has been made.

I wonder what it all this. This announce https://steamcommunity.com/games/534960/announcements/detail/1620648463933218577 is also strange, I used google to translate the title and is something like PAM,PAM, PAM, but what say the image?

image: "thousands of eyes wathching you and making digital file that can be bought by someone." I am russian, but I also did not understand anything. It seems to be complete nonsense.

If we assume that the developer's account was hacked and the post was written not by him, but by a cracker, then everything becomes quite logical.

Very bizarre. New low in hijacking (could they redirect payments?) or brainstorm to meltdown? 🤷

Considering the game has/had access to "item drops/in-game items" steam feature, probably the developer was trying to sell fake "playerunknown battlegrounds" skins on the steam community market.
This is not something new since I've seen shady developers trying this with tf2, csgo and dota items.

This looks like a malicious hijacking by someone who didn't care if the account got banned.

If you scroll back to the initial threads made in the discussion forum, the developer responses are all in English. This was done by a Russian troll. =(

The developer I believe responded in Russian here back on January 9th , however I don't think they were the ones who did this.

Here's gameplay from Measurement Problem which looks like a kool indie puzzle game. For the dev of Measurement Problem to do this just doesn't make sense.

Yeah, it definitely doesn't make any sense. Even from just looking at the screenshots earlier, it didn't look like your average asset flip BS, where one might expect a scumbag dev.

The gameplay vid has some similarities to Talos Principle. I watched the first few minutes, looks simple enough, but maybe gets more difficult later. Nice concept either way.

The listing actually pulls up this way but there's no store page and it's listed as Uninitialized and showed a mixed review icon.

That pic looks familiar.. I think I might of owned it but if so it's no longer in my library.

A few days back I received the message that my library was updating. I checked if I lost another game but there was nothing wrong. NOW I see the the game title PLAYERUNKNOWWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS that was Measurement Problem.

I have it too. It is in the library, but under the "new name" PLAYERUNKNOWN... Since people said the size of the install just jumped up e few GB, I am not really installing this right now.

If this is indeed a case of the account being hijacked, I hope they are able to restore the game. From the looks of it, the game looked decent enough, and I can't see any reason why they would try something that would so obviously be caught like that.

I'm sure more information will be released in the future. At least I hope so.
