It's not a matter of having 2 accounts or not. If you game gift isn't now in your inventory, it will never be. If you buy a game now it eithers go in your library, or someone elses.

In theory there might be a way to store gifts for sending later, but no obvious inventory option. Also if you buy a game for yourself (library) you can't send it to anyone else.

yeah, if you schedule gift to future, it will be stored in inventory and you can send anytime (or cancel). But still you can't change receiver at all.

Edit: also you can't gift to your alt accounts.

Ah, interesting. Didn't try it myself so didn't know the details.

Depending on the OP's intention, it could do the work. Like, If they wanna buy a birthday gift for a friend now, at a discount, and have it delivered later at full price on their birthday. If you get what I mean.

So what you're saying is, we can still gift Steam gifts through SG without worrying about a sale ending!

:buys a game at discount for every entrant of a giveaway: :cancels all the gifts for non-winners:

...I mean, in theory, anyway. :P

I like your thinking, but that could get quite expensive on a public giveaway!

Last month, around same time VPN key activation was blocked.Another thing they added is blocking of using market profits to gift if you gift "too much".

So it seems, "An unexpected error has occurred. Your purchase has not been completed." and a helpful email that allows you to rebuy the cart at sale prices for a week. So instead of buying games for yourself you are required to buy some crap you can cash out, makes perfect sense.

Edit: trying with another account it worked fine, so Steam as usual.

2nd account must redeam the item or the price is refunded to the buyer.

Steam only allows gifting at the time of direct Steam purchase, and no longer allows buying something that goes straight into your inventory.

I was wondering for a while since topic is asking about it too i want to ask;

What does happen when an account reject a gift? Refund to original account or can you re-direct it to someone else?

AFAIK you can only get gifts with 2-, 3- or 4-packs where you get the additional copies as gifts to your inventory.

Glad to see someone mention this. Also, as Madjoki said above, there are other, special cases where you may end up with a gift in your inventory. (e.g. Buying a game may spawn gifts in your inventory.)
