So let us begin...

Dave Brubeck - Take Five

Miles Davis - So What

John Coltrane - My Favorite Things

Fats Navarro Quintet - Nostalgia

....your turn now

Miles Davis - Générique from french noir movie Ascenseur pour l'échafaud (Elevator to the Gallows)

"On December 4, he brought his four sidemen to the recording studio without having had them prepare anything. Davis only gave the musicians a few rudimentary harmonic sequences he had assembled in his hotel room, and, once the plot was explained, the band improvised without any precomposed theme, while edited loops of the musically relevant film sequences were projected in the background"

If you like this one, listening to some of his albums from the filmworks series could be worth it in case you haven't done so already.
From those I know, I really like Invitation to a Suicide (the music is not as depressing as the title suggests ;))

I must admit that I know not much about jazz but L.A. Noire did intrigue me into this kind of music so if you can possibly reccomend me any songs close to that post-WW2 era I'd be very grateful :D
