I don't recall seeing this thread around here and I think it's a pretty cool one. You can either recommend someone a game or advise someone not to waste one's time on it. I'll start.

Mark Of The Ninja - A very good stealth-action game. It's like Splinter Cell but in 2D. Although I admit there were times when I was a little bit bored. Overall it's a very good game. Solid 8/10.

The Walking Dead
Everything a comic-book-based TV-show-like-episodic character-driven video game should be. Except for some slightly wonky controls and a maddening lack of a running (or even jogging) animation -- people are dying, you can't just walk everywhere -- it's "The Walking Dead", not the walking living!
And for once, x360ce failed me for trying to get a generic gamepad to work with a game. But it's Telltale's fault, I believe due to relying on DInput8.dll directly; apparently Beat Hazard had a similar issue and the dev resolved it within a day. I almost had it working with some custom dinput8.dll, but the right analog stick wouldn't work. Later on in the game though, I was glad I stuck with mouse and keyboard on the rare occasion when things got a little speed-twitchy.

...anyway. Those two minor rants aside, I definitely enjoyed it. Never read the comics and I hated the TV show (watched two seasons and stopped). I might've hated the game too, but the main character (at least the way I played him) was very cool-headed and usually logical in his thoughts, unlike everyone on the TV show (except the asian guy until he goes girl crazy). Likable characters are a good thing. Decisions that make sense are a good thing. Believability is a good thing. Again, unlike the TV show which accomplishes almost none of that almost all the time, the game accomplishes most of it most of the time. The pacing and music is nice too. I was always pleasantly surprised when each episode kept going. Had they not, I might've felt the game was a little short. ~12 hours to beat five episodes with my usual leisurely pace puts it at a little over two hours per episode. And last but not least, the decisions you make affecting the dialog and scenes and characters that continue along with you -- although I know it's a lot more work on the developer's end to make sure that really "works", I hope to see a lot more of that in all games in the future since it adds a ton to the individuality of the experience.

Rage

It's not as bad as some people say it is and I really enjoyed it, but the levels are kinda repetitive and the textures suck mostly ^^ even with the "fix", but the weapons are nice, the racing is a short fun and the minigames are a welcome change.

I'd give it a 7.5/10

The Whispered World - I was going to give it 7+ but after seeing the last 10 minutes I decided to give it a bold 9. It's a very good, nice, pleasant and beautiful tale of... well, see for yourself. It's worth it. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that there is no choice at the end (if it was it would be amazing) and sometimes characters' voices are annoying. 9/10

Batman: Arkham City - Better than Arkham Asylum in every way and one of the best action games of the last few years. I recommend it to everyone! 9+/10

Batman: Arkham City - Harley Quinn's Revenge DLC - It's not bad but nothing special really. I didn't like that some locations were taken from the original game and the ending was quite predictable. 6/10

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened - Remastered - Worse than the previous one (Silver Earring) in every way. I liked the atmosphere in this one and plot wasn't bad but compared to the plot from the previous game the story in this one was not complex at all and not so perplexing. The game itself is pretty "stiff" which can be annoying. There are no emotions whatsoever on characters' faces during cutscenes and some puzzles can cause a lot of problems. However, I enjoyed the game. 6/10

Just finished Dishonored a few days ago and the knife of dunwall. I enjoyed it very much and plan to get the other DLC Brigmore witches to complete the story.

Just beaten Hunted: The Demon's Forge a few seconds ago. A 2 year old game I had lying around for some time.

A tad underrated. Dull combat, one dimensional characters, thin storyline and a fairly useless talent tree system. However it has great environments, atmosphere, boss fights and even some spot-on humor. It has a 61/100 on Metacritic. I'd push that to a 70, perhaps even higher when played in co-op (which I did not).

Courtesy of the Humble Bundle I have last beaten Dead Space 1 and am half-way through 2. The game falls flat in trying to be horror, it wasn't frightening in the slightest as opposed to something like Amnesia, and it's story isn't that great, but the story is told so well it's enjoyable and the low quality is easily overlooked. It also draws a massive ammount of obvious influence from System Shock 2 which isn't a bad thing. Fun game, would be happy to play again later and recommend it.

Deponia, although I did work through a 50+ Hour Civ 4 Campaign even more recently

Fun little game, point and click so may not be for everyone. The puzzles are very vague at times, and some are even broken. (Mine cart puzzle) The characters are where the game shines. Rufus is a selfish super jerk with a hero complex, with an even more evil separated at birth twin. The game is pretty enjoyable until you get stuck.

Metro Last Light, just few moments ago... Can't really say anything spoiler-free or even hinted opinion, other than I've quite enjoyed scenarios, specially Ghost City and the next one. Voice over and Sound both music and FX are top notch as usual. Graphics are cool too!

Liked the inmersion factor, no icons on screen, effects on the mask, weapons customization are cool. IA is "fair enough", some spots harder than others. Overall 7.5 of 10 (little bit short, no more "open world-ish" but definitelly an improvement over Metro 2033, you get to spend more time on surface. No moral choices or at least to that notorial as previous game. Still liked a lot!

Last game I beat I think was Shadowrun Returns.
If anyone doesn't already know, it's a pretty incredible game. The Dev campaign is a touch short (but still very fun!), however the real glory of the game is that it's set up with a campaign editor by default, and tied to the Steam Workshop, with the major intent of the game really being to allow people to digitally GameMaster a video game via Steam by publishing their own content. Some of the content coming out for it is pretty stunning already, and will only improve with time. Plus the Dev created followup to the original campaign comes out here in October.
Easily worth every penny of the $20 price tag.

Shadow Warrior Classic Redux - Classic. One of my favorite FPS games. It's three games in one. I absolutely love gameplay, atmosphere and music. 9/10

PS: I also collected all achievements in it.

The Book Of Unwritten Tales - Pretty solid adventure game. I like the atmosphere, locations, humor, rather pleasing heroes, logical puzzles and nice mini-games. I don't like that the game is easy. It's impossible to be stuck for more than one minute. I also don't like the ending. The quality of intro and outro is also not very good. All in all, however, the game is good and should please every adventure games fan. 8/10

Outlast - My expectations were big. But let's start from the beginning. What's good in this game? Atmosphere. Heavy, dark, stuffy. It's brilliant. Audio is amazing, the camera view and use is a great idea and the plot is pretty good. It's scary. But the atmosphere! I just can't get enough of it. I don't remember when was the last time I felt such a big discomfort while playing a computer game. It's also worth nothing the game's really gory, brutal and vile. Now, what I don't like. Sometimes enemies are easy to outsmart and the game would be even more scary if it was harder (less batteries, stamina for running etc.). There could be more exploration. We just collect a document every few minutes and that's it. Also, there could be some puzzles like in Amnesia. The only "puzzles" are finding keys and pushing buttons/switches. Also, the game is pretty short. As a religious person I didn't like one scene towards the end of the game, also.
I was wondering how to rate this game. I wanted to rate it 8 but this atmosphere... Red Barrels achieved something extraordinary. It's 9/10 from me.
