Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. I just wanted to solve a couple of puzzles, jump from one place to another and see how story ended since the relation and bond development between two main characters was pretty damn good and fun to watch. I didn't want to spend 15 minutes in single fucking fights, with boring like hell combat mechanics which are just time consuming on their own but at some point game starts throwing over 20 enemies in waves at you with sudden camera changes or bugged combat features, adding additional annoyances but nothing of value.
The last fight before I got the Holy Sword of Imba - killing enemies with just one hit at the very end of the game (maybe 40 minutes before credits rolled) - took me 15 minutes because game spawned over all more than 35 enemies (stopped counting at that point as it surpassed earlier longest fight). Having to deal with clunky camera and sudden changes of it, unresponsive controls and bugs (when you hit 'rewind time' sometimes for some reason it stopps rewinding the exact moment you died so all your progress is fucked because from that point you can't rewind to any earlier moment after first use). Beating it took me like a hour of constant cursing.
Final boss battle was just weak, one of the easiest fights in the entire game and most boring too - I don't even know why the hell there are three 'stages' if nothing changes in any of them. Oh, I know, to make the boring experience longer trying to hide dev laziness.
It's just old guy fighting with a stick. Literally. Not a single twist to boring combat mechanics you faced in entire game, blocking deals with him just fine. No, he's not a wizard, whatever he says - in a 10 point magic scale guy gets 'wtf, seriously?' score which isn't even above 1 for summoning his clone-spirit (?) who fights instead of him. Very strong candidate to get annual The Most Boring Magic Combat Use Award. I'm not saying that summoning huge demon is imaginative or not boring, it just gives hope for any challange. However, with this combat system and clunky camera I guess it would be dreadful time consuming experience.
Puzzles were fun, story and characters too (all three of them), music was cool balance between oriental motives and modern stuff and I could also to some point compliment save points (I fucking HATE save points) which weren't as abysmal as in other, more recent games but the whole combat thing is just a huge and not fun waste of time with save system adding to the injuries.
5/10

Lucius 7/10 I had to Google my way through most of it, because the stuff I had to do was not obvious to me. But it was a fun game, with only a couple glitches that required restarting a level. Also the controls for one of his powers are annoying to use. The story and cutscenes were fun though.

since last I checked in...
Coins for Android -- a chill puzzle game that's not too difficult that I got for free during the "Because We May" event a year or two ago. Was stuck on the optimal solution for the very last puzzle for some time, but finally got it almost instantly when I returned to the game recently.
4 Elements -- my 1000th game on Steam and an SG win to boot! Fairly simple casual game that's difficult to fail, although some of the very last levels finally pull a few tricks on you. Also, there's a hidden object game between the unlocking each of the four elements. 100% achievements in eight hours!
Inversion -- happily ninja'd this one on the forums here. Had been wanting to try it out for some time, but the critics are correct when they say it's not that great. The actual art (like, the textures) isn't bad, but pretty much everything else in the game is rather weak.
Shelter -- I'm a terrible mother. Although I almost got two of them out, in the end, none of my badger cubs survived. They were certainly well-fed though!
and Assassin's Creed 2 -- put off buying this one for a very long time only because of the stupid level of DRM it used to have. But I'll avoid writing a DRM tirade to keep this short. And it still took me a long time to get to it, but I finished it to 100% completion. Got 93 of the 100 feathers without hints and apparently just had to re-check the banks of the Arno for all the ones I was missing in Firenze. Also, turned off the mini-map since it killed immersion. Was disappointed to learn that it's not a very accurate layout of the actual areas, but at least things are recognizable (although things like Il Duomo are hugely scaled down) and in compass direction, they have a roughly accurate correlation to each other when mapped to their locations in real life. Much of the reason I wanted to play it was for historical immersion, to just walk around in 15th century Italy. It did alright there, and I know the names of most of the historical sites of significance in Florence now. I do have a few criticisms, but on the whole, it's an excellent game.

Batman: Arkham Asylum
Was good, not great. Expecting a little more out of Arkham City.

Dead Island Riptide....kinda.I don't want to enter the boat and leave the island as I still want to do some remaining side quests and explore the areas. And reach level 70 :D

Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. I've beaten it several times before but it never gets any less fun than for the first time. It's bit buggy and with win 7 and 8 requires some tinkering to make it work but it's worth all the trouble in the end. 9/10

Doom 3: BFG Edition - I'm a fan of the series so BFG Edition is a nice package for someone like me. It contains all Doom games along with expansions. Plus a new Lost Mission campaign. I enjoyed all of those games. I've beaten them for like 3-4 times already. I like the gameplay, atmosphere and cool weapons. I don't like that there aren't many changes or improvements (not many options, one sound/music/ambience volume regulator, no subtitles, low res textures etc.) and I don't like some of the anti-religious symbols present in the game (not many though). Overall I enjoyed the Doom games. 8/10
PS: I also collected all achievements in it. Well, that took a while.

Samantha Swift And The Golden Touch - Another game from the Samantha Swift series. It's as good as the first one but it's easier and there's not many puzzles (aside from searching for hidden objects). Also, some objects are "hidden" in a way that it's impossible to find them and one has to click everywhere hoping to find the missing object. I enjoyed the game. 6/10

Spec Ops: The Line 5/10 It took me over 2 months to finally finish this game, with a total playtime of 6.6 hours. A lot of that time was redoing parts again and again because I kept dying. I was only playing on normal difficulty, but I must have died over a hundred times, usually repeatedly in the same area. I've never been a big fan of third person shooters because I'm terrible at aiming in them, but this one was exceptionally bad. I've heard the story is good, but after 2 months of playing to a checkpoint and quitting, I don't remember much of the story. Still, I kept coming back to it, so it was entertaining at least, but I wish I had lowered the difficulty to easy. I definitely will not be replaying this game.

Even when playing it at a normal pace the story wasn't really that good. I think it's only real impact was if you were expecting a bland "AAA" 'story'. Worked as a deconstruction of the genre on paper, but I think it lost all impact due to how thinly spread the tiny plot nuggets were. The shooting gallery just emptied out the soul of the game between moments of note.

I don't recall seeing this thread around here and I think it's a pretty cool one. You can either recommend someone a game or advise someone not to waste one's time on it. I'll start.
Mark Of The Ninja - A very good stealth-action game. It's like Splinter Cell but in 2D. Although I admit there were times when I was a little bit bored. Overall it's a very good game. Solid 8/10.
