Giveaway * game? dont understand

The FAQ needs to be totally updated with all possible unique events that could come up with the system. The FAQ that's currently on this site offers very little help.

Yes, because everyone reads the FAQ and that would solve everything. Let me self promote my idea again.

really, it should be on the create a giveaway page. if you put an asterisk after something, people expect that to mean there's some fine print explaining what the asterisk means (or if it's a field caption they'll probably think it's a required field). if it was actually on the create a giveaway page, that would cut down on the questions about what the asterisk means, though the people who don't read that page and just notice their contributor value isn't going up anymore will still ask.

it really shouldn't be that difficult to find. i only know about it because i've been here long enough to see the discussion.

Yeah, I hope the new FAQ will cover this.
