thought people might want to know, skyrim is now 40$ on steam. As far as i can tell its a full price drop and not just a sale. Knowing people love the game I thought you guys might want to know, for if the price was holding you back from getting it or something....

+1, assuming you mean the base price, making it $4.99 during the seal.

Its funny because they will rise it again before a sale... Like before the winter sale, the game was 30 euros and suddenly rose up to 60 euros!. The worst thing? It was on the top seller with the regular 33% discount. That was 33 euros...

Are you sure? I checked different regions for Skyrim on Steamgamesales on but I'm not seeing 30 euros list price anywhere. Either way it has always been $60 here in US region.

Thats because it uses the price that it has now as a base. For example, it says it was 20euros a month ago when the game was on a 50% off sale. But in reality it was 25 euros.

To see previous prices, use steamprices.

As you can see, the game used to be 30 euros before the sale were it went for 33 euros at 33%

Alright, well I'm looking at the chart you linked... is there any way to zoom in for more detail? The reason I ask is because if you mouse over it very carefully, it looks like Skyrim dipping to 30 euros around October 5th was only for a very short time and that it may have gone back to 50 euros within day(s). Might have been a pricing error.

Edit: looks like Steam had a Midweek Madness sale on Elder Scrolls games at the time.

Spring sale on Base + DLC bundle, followed by GOTY edition maybe?

Not likely, we'll see at least one or two more expansions.

It has been almost a year and a half now.

Fallout 3 received it's GOTY a year after release while Oblivion took three years. I wouldn't be surprised if we have a Skyrim GOTY by November.

I'm not doing anything until I see a GOTY. I could see getting it if it comes out this fall(provided a new fallout doesn't come out and occupy the vast majority of my time instead)
