There's a Civ IV mod called Rhye's and Fall that if I remember correctly lets you play Korea (and most other large countries such as the dutch, romans, ethiopians etc) on a detailed world map with tweaks that simulate real world events such as plague, world wars, mongol hordes, all the resources in the correct places etc. You can basically re-enact history with it.
