No one needs your generously given free games, thanks (like Pid, Spacechem, Enclave...)

You can easily drop it on the forums and "guy will be happy" too

So 'buy' tons of free copies and profit. You want this ? How old are you ? 10 ?
I still dont know why mods wont place info on the make ga page that you cant give free game and info about cv. It wouyld be so much easier for them.
And bare in mind that sometimes we need to wait a while so the list of games for ga will be updated. Its not like mods have earlier info about promos and magicly in the very same moment update list. Maybe they needd to hire few more ppl with clerance to only update that list. idk

You can't let yourself be held back by common sense in Gen..... in SteamGift, right!?

^This.
Any game that can currently be acquired for free by anyone outside of SG is not eligible for giveaways. Why should a user get CV when everyone who entered can go get the free key themselves once they're informed of such?

He joined one week ago and has only given away one $15 bundle game, so he would have received "full credit" for this game. Also, anyone who gives more than just bundle games still gets a percentage (albeit a small one) for every bundle game they give.

As far as I know, while generally considered like exploitation and frowned upon, giving away a single copy wouldn't lead to your giveaway's deletion. Giving away multiple copies, however, is blatant abuse of the free promotion they were obtained from and leads to both their deletion and a suspension. The deleted giveaway you were linked to is likely a case of the latter.
It would have been at least nice of you to mention the free promotion in your giveaway's description so that more people could see it, instead of insulting the person who did in the comments.

Well you were really rude already after i said that the game is available for free but that doesnt matter now ^^ anyways if you feel mad or anything else towards me just because i was stating out i reported that GA, after you were really rude to me, if it makes you feel better i reported all other giveaways of that game aswell so it wasnt just something to make you mad/pissing you off which i have no reason for.
And btw i agree with you about the rules thingy i remember when i was new here and wanted to make a GA of a free game aswell i only found out that its not allowed by reading throu the forum ^^

I agree with you it's not clear, but USUALLY, with these free games, you're allowed to create one giveaway, not a bunch of them. So, you're fine, I guess?
I even think the list of exploited games is not up to date.
They could add a line like this to the rules:
Do not submit more than one key for a game being given away for free while the promotion lasts

Games with such a multitude of free keys available to anyone are removed from the list entirely. Spacechem, Dino D-Day, and now Really Big Sky are no longer in the list of games eligible for giveaways. Nobody should get CV for a game anyone can get for free. This isn't an instance of just 1000 keys available, this is an instance of ONE MILLION KEYS.

Your giveaway should have been deleted, but obviously a moderator wasn't online at the time. Hopefully they remove it so you don't get your free CV.
Welcome to the site.

It does when the FAQ is a thread made by none of the current staff and has to be edited, the permissions for doing so being restricted to maybe one or two people whose efforts have to be used for more pressing issues than trying to 'idiot-proof' the rules for people who mostly won't even bother reading them in the first place.

Yeah, I know there are. I was just saying that a lot of people who would need clarifications don't bother reading them in the first place. I know that's not always the case. The way things are, though, hardly anyone can make changes and those people have a lot more important things that need to be done, unfortunately, and it's just frustrating. I wish we could do more about it, but I'm afraid we can't right now.

When massive free key giveaways start, the administrator removes them from the list of games that can be given away and deletes all giveaways for them retroactively. Yours was one of about a half-dozen that went up before the cutoff he selected, apparently. I got them now. Thanks.

Just to go against the grain, I was actually thankful for the Really Big Sky giveaways since I do not want to open a Twitter account (not even a fake one, call me crazy) to get the game. So, OP and others, thanks for trying to give it away, we appreciate it anyway.
That said, I totally understand why the moderators are doing this -- the site would be FLOODED with this game GAs otherwise (as it has happened before, unhappily).

The other reason is that people still get CV for stuff they got for free, hence inspiring massive exploiting of the system.

Fair enough, though that'd fix nothing concerning people knowingly and willingly exploiting the system.

Do you really expect CG or some other mods to camp here 24/7 and watch out for free games exploitation and delete it from the GA list immediately? Of course this takes time.
Come on, people have lives to live you know?
The revolting thing is you knowingly exploited something and didn't just feigned ignorance but you passed the buck and insisted like it's your damn right to exploit the CV system.

did you even read my post ?!!
and just to be clear I AGREE GIVEAWAYS OF FREE GAMES SHOULDN'T BE ALLOWED!! but god just write it in the rules.

I think there is a rule that you are not allowed to give away won games. And actually (though there was a million copies of really big sky) you have won it.

Rules - not clear enough. My pingas is now stuck in a blender.

Hey
So as everyone knows today were given alot of free "Really Big Sky" keys, so since I wasn't interesed in playing it, I did a Giveaway, but before that i read all the rules just to be sure i wasn't doing anything againts them, and actually i did not find any rule who states you can't GA games you won for free, so i did it and some people told me im reported bla bla so i didn't took it seriously, but one of them linked me this: http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/2HThh/really-big-sky
so how is the thing, is the mod wrong deleting that GA or the rules ?

EDIT:
"and just to be clear I AGREE GIVEAWAYS OF FREE GAMES SHOULDN'T BE ALLOWED!! but god just write it in the rules." this is to avoid "intengillent" people sayign random things.
