im wondering if it will be taken and given if i put it in a giveaway. and im wondering if i can give away a game in my library because it says codes.

CAN...I...GIVE...AWAY...A...GAME...THAT...IS...IN...MY...LIBRARY?

When you make a giveaway it's because you have

A) The gift in your steam inventory

B) A key for said game which can be used to get the steam version of it

C) Enough money to buy it when the giveaway ends and give it to the other person

Games from your library will NEVER be taken away from you, UNLESS the bank company from which the credit card was used cancels that payment, OR when you get a game from a key which was exploited or something like that, in other words, ANY game you got by any illegal means will be removed from your inventory and you'll be, most probably, punished because of it.

That's pretty much it, I think :P

Edit, Nope, you CAN'T giveaway a game that is already in your library

Games cannot be gifted from your Steam Library.
You can gift games from your Steam Inventory.

Or you can gift unused keys (that activate on Steam) which you obtained outside of Steam.

You buy a gift or a key and give it to the winner.

You cannot give a game that is in your library, it is tied to your account. To give away a game, you have to buy a gift copy of it on Steam and give it to the winner, or purchase the Steam code from a digital games seller such as Amazon, GreenManGaming, etc and give the code to the winner. The site does not provide the games and you cannot gift games from your library.
