Well nothing really changed my life tbh. Starcraft, Counter-Strike: Source and Guild Wars are the games that have had the biggest impact in my life though. I've spent most of my gaming time playing those 3.

Tomb Raider: Anniversary is that game for me. It just has so much charm and one of the best soundtracks IMHO. I recommend picking it up on steam if anyone gets the chance (it's only $8 I think). If I am ever feeling nostalgic or sad, I play this.

Sometimes I just sit on the title screen to listen to the main theme. Crystal Dynamics did such a great job with this game. I get an indescribable feeling of mixed emotions and magic when I play this game. I felt that the 2013 Tomb Raider lacked this same charm. Ah well, I'll just replay Anniversary :P.

Has to be Vice City and San Andreas. Vice City introduced me to funk and San Andreas sealed the deal.

No games changed my life, but there is one that makes me cry like a little kid (when i really can't cry easily).
That game is called Lost Oddissey.
When i was playing that game, i really could compare myself, my personality with the main character personality.
And from that, the game teachs you many things, it's very deep about human feelings.

I really suggest you all to play it if you didn't yet.

Have a nice day :)

Not a game, but a gaming site. Kongregate. I wasted so much of my younger life playing those flash games and making friends, and without Kong I would not have the self-confidence, friendliness, acceptance and intelligence I have now. I owe all the best parts of my personality to the people I met and the friends I made through that website and the games I played there and still play there to this day.

counter strike 1.6 , this game completely changed my life if not saved my life. A couple of years ago I was going through some real tuff emotional time (suicidal times) but then i found cs1.6 , this saved me it cleared my mind , it made me forget all the bad things. this game was the first game i got on steam when a friend gave it to me after i played on non steam cs1.6 for a while. from that day on i looked at life a different way and from that day i am happy to be here and i have many steam games that i havent played yet but i dont need to if i have my valve games.

Donkey Kong Country 2. There is one DK coin. One fucking DK coin I could never find. Day after day, never found it. To this day it haunts me and I refuse to look up cheats/guides.

I'm curious which level's coin you're missing, however I'm worried that if you posted it some other people may spoil its location.

Ditto. I didn't actually own a Game Boy, but they had a demo model outside the store (secured, of course). I spent God knows how long there.

Legacy of Kain series. No game has grasped my thoughts for as long as these. The story of these games is now like a basis for comparison when comes to appraising a story of another game.

Thanks to this series I met a lot of people that are significant to me and to my life. Believe it or not, I even met my first love in that fandom.

Some games are more than just games. Some of them stay with you forever.

There's been many, which is mainly why I want to work in gaming, but the important ones...

Jeremy McGrath's Supercross 2000 started me interested in custom content, but in truth, the big one is Halo: Custom Edition. Without this game, I wouldn't want to be a games designer, and my life would be VERY different, methinks. So many hours spent fiddling with different assets, trying to make something fun and cool. It lead to me writing my first (and messy) GDD, and that GDD won me a 3rd place scholarship with my current design college.

Bioshock and Alice: Madness Returns I think have both given me a much stronger connection with a very close friend of mine, and have cemented what I believe are good design and story ideas in my head. Brilliant experiences that changed the way I considered games and let to my big project, which I feel is a big reason why my life is a lot more stable now than it should be.

Ratchet & Clank 3: Up Your Arsenal was literally the only game I played at one point, and its one of the few games which I truely love the gameplay in. It was what allowed me to connect with my brother a lot better, and its what got me interested in developers (the Insomniac Museum made me think how great it would be to work at a place with anti-gravity boots). And of course, talking to people who love the games...

There's many more, but those are some big ones for me.

I LOVE Alice: Madness Returns. That type of atmosphere and dark theme is my favorite when it comes to games. They pulled it off perfectly.

I have the same experience with Ultima Online. It was the best time of my (gamer) life. I have many beautiful memories and I also met a lot of fantastic people thanks to this game. Oh, and the most important part: one of my game masters (from some unofficial UO server) is now my girlfriend :D

UO kinda does that to people, maybe cause unoficcial servers are all kinda small. Thanks to UO I got familiar with the local role-playing folk, and had hundreds of awesome hurs playing DnD later.

Quake I, because it introduced me to gaming.

Diablo 2, because it was sooo awesome.

TES III: Morrowind, because it erased 1,5 year from my CV, turned me into a complete no-life, nerd and anti-real-world maniac. Dam, it was such a good game. And such a bad time in my life.

Tribes: Vengeance because it got me out of that state.

Urban Terror is very important to me, because it introduced me to First Person Shooters. I still play the game to this day, and it is still in active development.

But the most important game for me, the game that introduced me to gaming in general, was TrackMania Sunrise. Such a fantastic game! It's replay value is just infinite. It cannot be described :')
