I'm a game developer or publisher looking to promote my game through giveaways. How do I get started?
If you're looking to promote a game, the best option is to create a featured giveaway. These giveaways are displayed at the top of our homepage, and receive the highest visibility. Featured giveaways are created in the same manner as every other giveaway, and our site will automatically feature giveaways on our homepage if they contain 50 copies of a game or greater, and if they're ending within four days. We feature up to two giveaways at once, and if more are available, then two will be displayed at random, with preference given to giveaways of higher copies. Please note, the giveaway will only be displayed to users that have permission to join, and if you choose to limit your giveaway to a particular Steam group, it will only be visible on the homepage to members of that group. If the limitations on your account do not allow you to create a giveaway for 50 copies or greater, then please contact support. We'll upgrade your account to developer status, allowing you to create giveaways up to 100,000 copies.

madsession nailed it with the information from here
in short, just create a GA for 50+ copies and it will be featured. If you don't have 50 GA slots, open a ticket with support

I thought that this is pure nonsense.. But after I saw the direction where new windows goes... Lets say that there is a reason why there is not many games on apple computers right now xD

Apple could easily "step up their own game" i would think. But, not if they focus more on tablets, pods and phones than computers...But like Microsoft, Apple just wants to make money however ways they deem it suitable and smart to do so (and seemingly turn
If Microsoft simply wants to a be console-maker of Xbox instead of keeping up with OS', and Apple wants to be a I-phone-and-I-tablet maker, so be it. A blacksmith can shove a lot of steel into the coal, but rarely can he hammer it all out into something good before it cools.

You reminded me about another problem with w10. It's basically os beta version - constantly changing shovelware xD Not really good environment for games :)

hello guys and girls, thanks for help. I did send a ticket to steamgifts, aout upragind me to a "Developer" member, so i can do a giveaway. And i didnt get a developer status (thats fine by me), only got more slots on my account. Is that enough? If i do a giveaway now (planning today), its automatically a promoted giveaway (50 keys of course, for 5 days)? Is it all good now? Sorry for hesitate, but overall thank you for replies!

Its all in FAQ that I copy pasted in my previous answer: "our site will automatically feature giveaways on our homepage if they contain 50 copies of a game or greater, and if they're ending within four days."

If I understood that paragraph above correctly a featured GA must be shorter than 4 days. It might also mean that (if you make it longer) it will only be featured on the front page during the last 4 days of its duration but I'm not sure about that.

ok, so ill do a 4 day giveaway (i wasnt sure if it can be longer or shorter than 4 days, my english aint great :D). Just wanted to make sure, because i heard some stuff about the whole developer thing, i thought i need to have it (though it wasnt written), but now i know enough. Thank you guys, sorry for hesitate

I am a friend of a developer. Actually, im in a office ( gameby.pl). I do videos, bla bla bla. Its a polish site about games. Anyways, my friends here develpoped a game (from my office, but i didnt take part in making the game, im promoting it now).
Is it possible to do a "promoted" giveaway? I mean, be in the table, wich shows only 2 giveaways on the hompage. Can i do that, not being a developer? Our goal is giving 50 keys, so is it only the amount of keys that puts us up in the table? (and 50 is enough?) Or is there a different way to making a "promoted" giveaway? Is it all legal according to the steamgifts rules?
