Bought the highest tier/BTA the last two SW bundles, haven't really touched any of the games yet .Missing 3 from the current bundle, I'll pass this time. Shadows of the Empire doesnt seem to be on Steam though

You get a key for it. Just no store page/downloading yet. But the key does activate correctly.

Erm if both KoToRs would be in Tier 1 this would be way better.

Where is Lego Star Wars by the way? If they had that I would buy it :3

repeats, old games, nothing intresting added, even from catalogue of old goodies they could still give (me want old SW platformers!), not to mention idk, new Battlefront which surely could use some playerbase to be playable again. Definetelly a skip.

For someone who havent played KoToR this could be okayish?

Yeah, I doubt a lot of people would play those actively. I wouldn't at least. I might get them some day to add to the collection, but they're just too old for me to really enjoy (although I might enjoy KoToR 2 and the Force Unleashed games still)...

I know its heresy, but I never was that big of a Star Wars fan...
My family always watched Star Trek and I didn't actually see any of the original Star Wars movies until they were on TV.
I am mildly curious about "Knights of the Old Republic" since I've heard really good things about it, but really I don't need to further add to my backlog..

Ehm... "its age" implies that you are a fan of "the newer the better"? Not knowing how old you are and you say that Ill only drop this: video games art is immersion. And it really doesnt matter how old a game is, or how the graphics are, when a game really manages to draw you into its world. Plus, as I said before trying not to deal in absolutes, its one of the best, if not the best. Other than that its a matter of personal taste, wont you say? Out of curiosity Id like to know which one you consider to be the best RPG.

ok, i read all your comments and now i can't sleep well, what's the best RPG for you?
Beside this, i played KOTOR long time ago, well yeah, it's a good game, not as good as Oblivion in it's time.. but still one of the best RPGs! sadly i didn't complete it, and know i find the graphics outdated & hard to feel this immersion like the 1st time!

Again, expressing a personal opinion here, Oblivion was very mediocre in terms of RPGing (the very definition of Role Playing Game). Especially because you could be literally...anything equally good. A wizard-warrior-vampire-thief-etc. Not much choice. Liked Morrowind MUCH more. And the later Bethesda's Fallout series (which were much more RPG). Still I had like 500 hrs on Oblivion xD KotOR on the other hand, is as RPG as it gets. And the immersion comes, I think, given the appropriate time. I, myself, played it also MUCH later than its release date since I wasnt a big Star Wars fan when it first came out. Needless to say I didnt sleep for 2 days straight before I finished it. And till the day, it easily has my favourite Star Wars script - character & plot twist, even from the movies! Again, opinion ;) :)

Ultima IV-VII would have a few words with that one…
While KotOR is a pretty good cRPG, it is only a really good one. It is not BioWare's best even (that is either Baldur's Gate 2 or Mass Effect 2, depending on who you ask).
It has really good characters though, even if the game world is small and restrictive (felt really strange after their Forgotten realms games, even the NWN campaigns had larger territories to walk through, but at least they made the same fetch quest campaign goal pretty interesting this time around).

Well they're all Drew Karpyshyn's (+Jade Empire +Neverwinter Nights) works so its kinda subjective on which one of the three (or five) you prefer. Id still go for KotOR out of all of em. Yes, even Baldur's Gate II. As for Ultima series Im afraid they're before my time (and Im 32 so that is a while ago :P ) and I didnt have the chance to play them yet, though I am familiar with them considered to be prototype RPGs, Ill have to take your word for it :)

Definitly not. I play quite a few older games still, but after playing modern games, it's hard to overlook the issues most old game suffer from.
And it really doesnt matter how old a game is, or how the graphics are, when a game really manages to draw you into its world.
I agree with that, but having good graphics really helps. But where do you see me imply it's the graphics I have an issue with? The graphics are actually still surprisingly good. It's the numerous other issues with the game (and the fact that it's pretty unstable on modern machines (but so are a lot of older games)) that keeps this game from being at the top of my list. It's still an amazing game though.
Out of curiosity Id like to know which one you consider to be the best RPG.
That's pretty difficult. I absolutely loved Dragon Age: Origins. Oblivion is also a game I really enjoyed a few years ago, but I can't really get back into it now. Now I think about it, I have not really played a lot of RPGs lately. I really should start playing them again...

In case you decide to get a second look on KotOR I have to inform you that with some patches it runs not only smoothly but with better graphics and in very high resolution too :) Played it over 3 different computers and never had a single problem ;) Plus...Revan is the best Star Wars character...ever haha
