Difference between EU and RU games ( or keys )

some RU games cannot be activated/played outside of Russia without VPN

I'm in Australia and I have a Russian Battlefield 3. Just added the key to Origin no problems. I bought the Karkland expansion off Amazon and added that no problem also so that didn't have conflict issues. After the initial language change I've only had to change it twice when there was update patches but once I didnt bother and just played it in Russian for a while because I knew the menu. All the in-game talking is still the same.

Only real difference was the $80 drop in price at the time. My friend did the same for MW3 but had to do that vpn stuff. MW3 is still $100 here or $20 from Russia. I've seen it on Amazon for $30. My friend who did this said he has had no issues and didn't even have to change the language ever.

Only different language. Some RU retail games are completely region free, such as Binary Domain, The Witcher 2 and MW3.
