So... like every pair of specs ever created.

I've used amber/orange tinted glasses/goggles before when skiing where the exact same thing (reduce glare/filter UV) is the goal. I've been getting tired eyes lately and tried my sunglasses, which work well enough to reduce glare, but this thread reminded me of my (relatively cheap) 3M safety glasses which have an amber tint. I bought them from the local DIY store or wood-working and IIRC they were < NZ$10. Have been trying them out and they have the same effect as sunglasses but don't darken things as much (obviously). Luckily I work from home ;)
I'm generally pretty skeptical, and whenever someone claims something is amaaaazing, it's normally the cue to roll your eyes and walk away, but I can at least see why these would/could work. Also, $99 isn't that high a price to pay for the sake of your eyesight.

Depends, I work in front of a screen for 8+ hours a day even before I fire up a single game or sit down in front of the TV; eye strain is a big problem for me. I've been experimenting with sunglasses and my cheapo amber-tinted safety-glasses and both really help me. Style doesn't matter for me at the moment because I work from home, but if I had to go into an office, paying extra for fashionable frames wouldn't be such a bad investment, and, hey, they're only US$99. (Well, they are if you live in the US. Live in NZ and the official supplier seems to be charging nearly NZ$300 for them)

There not worth the money. The other day I went to the dentist and was given these foam glasses so my eyes dont get damaged by that lamp thing you were allowed to take them so I did. And I was on this website and cause of the white background and it being night time my eyes hurt a bit put them on to see if they did anything and they stopped. The cheap version of gunnar glasses they just look uglier.
