What do you think?
tl;ttr
That is, I tried to read, but didn't get what you're driving at.
The way I see it, games are entertainment. Creators are free to offer it any way they want, and users are free to choose what they want to do with it. I dislike the use of psychological tricks to get money (such as loot boxes and achievements), and I dislike trading cards, because they provide value which is unrelated to the game's worth as entertainment, and therefore help encourage shitty games with cards.

This thread is so confusing.
Are you suggesting some sort of gaming "welfare system" for the poor or something? Your point is completely lost in there somewhere, and it comes off as "games are too expensive for me!"
Really, if I were that poor, I'd worry less about gaming, and more about earning money ... unless someone is willing to let me leech wi-fi and electricity from my cardboard box in the alley.

Yes, again, I'm having trouble to accurately represent my opinion on what I actually wanted to say as a result of this. Not just this, but my personal stuff(which I won't mention for good reasons)prevents me from making prefect as ever.
On topic, what rich/poor means is customers, who say nowdays that we USED TO buy a good game for 10-30$ and it provided, if not tens of hours, not hundreds, but even thousands of hours of fun AND playtime! Yes, people used to trust literally MOST at least, if not all games that were released in 2000s, like GTA series, GMOD, NFS games pre 2006, C&C series till 3rd and 4th parts, and others. Not only people including myself weren't afraid of buying a game as much as now, but also those said games are much, much more pleasing and great compared to crap that is pushed by now lazy companies, like EA, Activision Blizzard, Ubisoft and indie developers, who want nothing but your money, or trying to lie about their "great" project and deliver crap on release. Remember that those AAA companies USED to be actually good AND affordable? Their games didn't cost 60$; they costed 20-30$ at best, they mostly had EXPANSIONS, not DLC that is just map packs(thankfully, they used to give them for free for PC), or boring stories/gameplay along with "loot box craze" and "live services" W/O endless gameplay allowed in multiplayer/sandbox games, like Terraria, Minecraft, GMOD, e.t.c. Those games I listed are good/great, just listing are examples if those companies really want to pursue those goals, then they have to be inspired by those games.
I'm sad that this current future is purely against consumer and honest people; it's more of "if you have money, you can buy everyone, even their soul and dignity". I'm still playing and buying games, but I lost that exciting drive, especially when Steam was once a prestigious store, now flooded with crap to dig trough to find good indie projects, hidden behind scams, asset flips, so called "craphead" developers, and achievement spam games. ZUP! series is most infamous case of card + achievement farming breed, and many then followed suit.

Oh, and it seems my poll actually got a clear winner; the "neutral" option, the option that I actually prefer and want to work like it was before. But sadly, people from both sides ended up being "only the best should get everything", while people who aren't, but WANT to somehow actually please/help the industry, like said video games are now saturated with greedy options, whereas classics from the past are either in hands of evil shareholders/companies, or indie developers thinking they can capitalize on classics by making rip offs/clones of them, be it Warcraft/C&C/other great game here clone, that does/tries nothing new to differ from those.
And yes, I thank all the folk who contribute to the site, nothing against the best ones, but I'm talking the general one; the poll already shows that despite "neutral" option being the winner, there's still people who are "left" or a "right". Both left/right options are evil, right? Not everyone says soviets are evil, not everyone says purists like Germans were evil, but effects of power, glory, country truth and pride had a effect on people still...
Oh, and https://steamdb.info/app/756590/ Tecmo Koei really doesn't like other countries despite they are still getting region locks on copies, right?

Or maybe eliminate the rich and the poor.
Thomas Jefferson had a great idea:
"Another means of silently lessening the inequality of property is to exempt all from taxation below a certain point, and to tax the higher portions or property in geometrical progression as they rise."

I remember a study by the British researchers !
Studied anthropological data and deviced a hapiness factor and discovered that humanity had that factor the highest in prehistoric before they invented agriculture :)) !
And that USA is one with the lowest rating of happiness factor :( !

Now straight to insults. Great. I never said the poor countries should deserve MORE, I said about how dumb the companies/indie devs who don't know the actual situation in the entire world dare to charge outside Steam's conversion rate, on top of that, saying that "everyone needs to pay pure dollars", because they fear losing money.
You did go to option of "kill all the poor". Great. Just more reasons why people are angry at gaming industry once again, because stupid decisions breed more greed. Especially "pay to win", where's there's some entitled pricks dare to spend if not 100$, but 1000$, 10000$ or even 100k$ worth of money to "have fun killing chumps who don't pay". Expect they don't know how everyone else(expect the creators) would feel.
Keep saying "pure dollars", and "no adjustment for worse countries" mate. You say I'm the warmonger, while YOU encourage nukes, like a tragedy happened in Russia, wooow. They should die with AIDS because they are our enemy, wooow. Oh, and I'm not sided with so called by mind "aggressors" either.
Timelines earlier, or simply several years, there were several RU/CIS users who were very active on forums, and they could easily help threads or people. And now you say that I'm asking for some kind of judgement. No I'm not. I'm pointing out the stupidity of what industry has become. Cheap asset flips and shovelware made by US-RU morons, like Digital Homicide and election games, patriots saying "you are poor, we must kill our enemy", it has been tiring everyone that cares, not just myself. But not you...silently.
But hey, this thread revealed several so called "purists" who say only the best should exist, right? It's like saying I have the right to kill people who own less games/level/value than me. But I would exterminate only those who are real threat, like Digital Homicide and "political election games", that take themselves too much seriously than funny. On top of that, actually force/encourage people to take what creator(s) thinks.

I don't even know where to start. This is pure crazy :(
1 - Games are usually half the price in Russia. This is actually a privilege given to countries with lesser purchasing power to combat piracy. This is a policiy to improve their sales not because you have a "right" to buy cheaper games. Some game companies do not follow this policiy. Also high game prices are not always caused by developers or Steam.
Here is an example. I am from Turkey and usually get my games cheaper in steam too. But Bethesda games are more expensive here than in America. Why? Because there is a publisher in my country (ARAL Game) that monopolizes industry. They are known to pressure companies like Steam to raise their prices so they can milk gamers for more cash. After they got contract for Bethesda, game prices skyrocketed in Turkey. Government doesn't do anything about it as long as they get their taxes. or bribes
Now whose fault is this? I blame my country's corruption not some western company. I am patiently waiting those expensive games to get decent discounts. even though I want to play Fallout 4 so badly :)
2 - Nobody wants indie game developers dead. Only AAA companies want to absorb them so they can monoplise the market. Most of gamer community hate AAA companies for that kind of behaviour.
3 - Nobody wants Russian games gone. But we want asset flipper/cash grabber developers which are usually Russian and my countrymen are not saints too ;) gone from steam.
In short Metro 2033, S.T.A.L.K.E.R, etc. is good. Asset flip crap games are bad.
END NOTE: Don't blame others for every little thing goes bad in your life.

Inspired by a thread about giving to the poor from stealing from the rich(yes its on this site), and opinion that both sides should be under "no poverty" rule, I ended up with this somewhat nasty but truthful opinionship; also inspired from watching "random" people on the internet, who offer tyrannic rules, saying that indie game genre should die off, and if you don't want to die, you should join/be absorbed by AAA studios, or you should be a country patriot and make games how your country(i.e America)destroys the enemy countries and says "we are the favored ones" if you are against us, or don't want to join us, you should die before us. In addition, they want for a fee to publish a game be massively increased, for example from current 100$ for Steam into 5000$ or even millions, saying that will shovel off "asset flips" and shovelware, while also implying that games should be a luxury that only the billionaires or simply the best/favored ones can enjoy, not as works of art and honesty. Or TLDR; AAA win, indie should die.
Another issue is how people relate to other countries; from some companies that raise their prices on other regions to point they reach 60$ under current bank exchange, but somehow they end up costing MORE than specified; i.e RU/CIS have to pay 120$(sic)for a 60$ game! You would rather buy 2 GTA V(right, 2 AAA games)copies instead of this! Yes, you heard me right, they pay TWICE than amount that perfect currency countries pay! On top of that, companies make DLCs worth more than the base game itself, in certain cases multiple times than normal! The AOT2 game is pure example of "pure dollars" rule; it ignores regional price differences in order to make more accessible to rich countries, like US, JP and KR for example. Everyone else is screwed. https://steamdb.info/app/601050/
But main issue still remains; there's "indie" developers like Digital Homicide who exploited every hole to abuse customers as money machines, to those who ignore regional pricing to make more money than they deserve, and those who price their games for more than they are worth, and then releasing those games as bundled ones...Like a 10$ visual novel into a 1$ bundle that also contains other games, not just that one. In case of bundles, they still use "pure dollars", so that makes people resort to key resellers, who may cost even more money. Reseller sites that buy on their own however, may be not that greedy.
The regional one also has another group of people who want, well, you guessed it; they want other countries be completely destroyed from gaming market, like saying that Russians, Ukrainians, Polish and other "third world countries" should be removed completely from the gaming industry, because they are "home of crap games because they are poor" While also saying that Unity, RPG Maker engines and others should die in favor of those who can pay 5000$+ like EA, Ubisoft and AAA companies. Despite AAA are the reason why indies erupted and exist; EA absorbed and killed studios to point where creative talent is no longer recoverable, while people say it's for great good...
Real life? It's similar, here you get people who are supporting "power for the rich" rule, where AAA studios make gameless editions of games, "fee to pay" games like Overwatch, DLC bangalooza, where they cost MORE than the game itself, up to multiple times, P2W games that exist only to make money and give power for those who pay, on top of killing indie genre, and loot box craze, such as CSGO/PUBG/insert loot box or skins game here, where they lure people into spending money on "it's just cosmetic" excuse, while making crap ton of money for doing absolutely nothing. Or people who are against, instead encouraging consumer friendly system, like Fortnite, which has cosmetics, but is F2P to begin with, and doesn't allow people to gamble outside it. Unturned is another one with loot boxes, but it's F2P, so like Fortnite, and they both act fair to players, unlike cheater and money friendly CSGO and PUBG.
I hope this info will be of your use. Regardless of who you are, or what you are. Hopefully it will help you in future. Rich or not, both are welcome. There was also blatant statement born from "money related" things. Sorry for EVEN mentioning it, but that was in original post. Come at me for being stupid.
