Build engine games? Doom engine? Unreal? Other? Hate em all?
oh right, I just have so little interest in CS GO that I kinda ended up forgetting about Source lol
I think it's been ages since I even touched Half-Life
Although I suppose Gary's Mod was fun to play, too bad I can't edit the poll now

It goes back even to the original Counterstrike and Half-Life Deathmatch with goldsrc, which is what the source engine today still uses and I put in the hidden text.

I'm ok with half-life and CS, they didn't change my life. I dislike CS GO

I had all of those on wishlist except Prodeus and WRATH which I didn't even know about until now. Now they're not my wishlist too xD
Watched gameplay video for Prodeus and it's so sick! Brutal violence, so much gore, I love it already haha! Just really annoyed with the helmet HUD. I hope you'll be able to disable that.
WRATH looks good as well, enemies kinda don't seem very interesting but I only saw like 3-4 types in the video I watched for it. There will probably be some interesting ones.
Thank you for mentioning those. Anyway, old shooters were a lot of fun, I mean heck, they still are. So I'm glad to see we're getting more and more of the retro shooters, albeit a lot of them miss the mark completely.

I just don't know why of all things they brought back the scrags to WRATH lol
They have some very interesting enemies if you look up the longer vids, some made me think of Unreal and maybe even reminded me of some of Caleb and Wang's foes

Although I bought it even before it went out of early access, I'm yet to play Ion Fury. Dusk was great fun and probably my favourite of those retro revival shooters. I found Amid Evil to be decent, no strong feelings either way. Project Warlock isn't just worth a shot, greatly enjoyed playing it. Feel like it got undeservedly lost among aforementioned games.

The reason Project Warlock is the bottom of the list for me is because I have sensitive eyes, I had to do some laser surgery because there was fear I might have detached retinas and since then I am a little sensitive to lighting, some games like Nightmare Reasper didn't make the list at all for that reason. I love Risk of Rain 2 for example, can only play it for about 30 minutes before the pain gets too much. That is also why when a game has too much screen shake or lighting I cannot tone down from the menu I cannot give them a good review.

Sad to hear it, that is very unfortunate. Have you tried using sunglasses or those computer glasses?

Computer glasses might help, I should try them in the future. Sunglasses will make it impossible to play some games like Heretic or Quake - besides I don't think I'm as cool as the Duke.

Well, I voted "FPS games suck" which is a little unfair. Nearly every FPS gives me motion/simulation sickness - Doom, Quake, Minecraft (no, really). I'm lucky if I last 30 minutes before I get a migraine and have to lie down in a dark room.
But for some reason that I have not figured out, I'm fine with Borderlands 2.

Borderlands 2 was pretty sweet, I can't stand gearbox and 2k anymore though, I won't be getting 3. At least I won't go out of my way to.
I don't think I have any solution for motion sickness. But I'm sure there might be something out there. I know how it feels, this game InFlux gave me the most horrible motion sickness within seconds.

I loved Heretic and Hexen, back in the day. Keep wanting to play them again, but the time for it hasn't really been there.
Incidentally, I toppled into Destiny 2 recently, and in many ways it's a lot like a multi-player DOOM. Flashy, noisy, indulgent, modern, jumpy, zoomy DOOM.

It's very much the classic Quake Live improved. Sadly, they also tried to make it more accessible to people who are less familiar with Quake Arena. And that's sad because new people are not into that stuff, but the older crowd WANT the soul crushing experience that Quake Arena was so they lost some people on both sides of the isle. It's a pretty good Multiplayer experience non the less. Much better than what Doom 2016 started out with when it came out - did they fix that? or is Doom 2016 MP still shait? ( I don't have the heart to go back into that MP and be disappointed again >.> so I ask other people to do it for me )

A lot of FPS make me sick now. It's related to my vision or something and it didn't use to be that way. Oh well. Lots of other games to play, right?
I've been having some weird nostalgia trip lately. I was never very good at FPS games (am still terrible at them in fact), but I've been drawn to playing them
Sounds like me and strategy games. Suck at 'em. Can't resist 'em.
Am I just getting old and wanting familiar things?
You're not old. You're vintage.
Thanks for the Jigi!

What kind of Strategy games? RTS? x4? Turn-based jagged alliance/xcommy type things? Any specific ones come to mind?
Comment has been collapsed.
All of the above but mostly Grand Strategy and x4 and so many of them are space games which I simply cannot resist!
It's like a blind person spending tons of money on priceless arts and first edition books. Bit pointless and kinda masochistic. But I just can't help myself.

Old. Are you sure you are old? I feel very old and yes I do want to play some of the old games as well. Right now I don't even seem to have a favorite type of game. I just try this until I get board, and then I try something else. Thanks for the puzzle.

I wonder how Gearbox screwed up this much:

Jim Sterling
It's too bad I don't own that edition of Duke, I wonder if they will remove it from steam :\

I've been having some weird nostalgia trip lately. I was never very good at FPS games (am still terrible at them in fact), but I've been drawn to playing them again recently, replayed Quake (I really wish they'd fix the steam version so we don't have to mod the crap of it just to get music). Hexen, because apparently I hate myself. Playing a bit of Shadow Warrior Redux now and Doom 2016 when I have free time, plan on 100% both eventually.
And I really, really want to try out some of the new/old shooters being thrown out on steam lately, I don't own any of them though:
Amid Evil and Dusk look sick. Ion Fury is probably really fun. Prodeus & WRATH: Aeon of Ruin look promising, and even Project Warlock could be worth a shot.
Am I just getting old and wanting familiar things?
Here's the gib:
It's a toughy, with a minimum entry level of 5, open for a full week from today, ends Saturday the 5th at 7am Eastern. So winning chances should be reasonable
