I could only find, that you may not submit them, but not to enter them.

So can you enter a giveaway which is (probably) from a bundle?

You may enter. Maybe the Contributor gets banned for submitting a game from a bundle^^

You can enter it, but in a way that incites people to create more giveaways for bundled games. You'd also not receive the game even if you win if the mods act upon the reports.

If the giveaway ends before the mods get a chance to delete it, you may very well receive your game. However they could still delete it afterwards and remove the contribution status of the gifter (and suspend him). If they delete the giveaway before it ends, the you win nothing and the points are given back to everyone who entered.

I believe you're supposed to mark the gift "not received" if you can tell it's from a bundle.

Actually that system is kinda stupid. If I give away a game that has been in a bundle but I don't have the key from bundle but I have bought it in a cd key store (there are some where you can get Steam keys) then I can get banned for nothing. And other thing is - I know some people that buy games they are giving away after the giveaway ends and send them to winner then. So if you don't see the game in my inventory it doesn't mean I have a key. It's kinda sad but what can you do with it... people just don't like that other people give away free games...

May I ask why this is such a bother to you?

Is there a game you want that is blacklisted due to this rule? Are there games you're dying to giveaway that are blacklisted due to this rule? Are you simply bitching just to bitch?

For everyone one person who goes to GoG and buys a Steam key there are hundreds of people paying $1 for a bundle and listing individual giveaways.

It's unfortunate to them, but instead of choosing one of the 100-200 games that have been in bundles, try one of the other 2500+ games on Steam. It's the thought that counts, not the game right? (I know, that's not SteamGifts mentality, but let's try)

I don't get your point tbh. If you buy a key in a store, give it away here and get banned you can always submit a ticket and prove that your key is not from a bundle.

You can also upload a photo and link it in the giveaway's description. I doubt any mod will ban you.

Are you looking for a technical (yes), moral (no), ethical (no) or legal/rules (?) answer?

I don't get the question.

Is the answer... 5? :P

Technically, you can.
Morally and ethically, you shouldn't.
I don't think there's anything in the rule that prevents people from entering such giveays but they could get deleted at any moment.

Considering there is a forum Support member who has won three games during the duration it was in a bundle, then yes, yes you can.

I don't enter if I am reasonably sure it is from a bundle.

Where/what is the profit? I also profit if I win and don't report him. :/

I still don't get it why are people so annoyed by bundle keys? I know people use them to buff their contribution counter, but how is that different than buying Railworks at 90% off to buff your contributions? Or buying any other 75-80% off game? Using a heavily discounted game is allowed, but using a bundle key not? Makes no sense.

Cuz when u bought bundles (b4 Xmas) u spent 0.01$ and got about 30$ contributor, now u spend 1$ and get 50$while others spent 3.5$ and got 35$ contribution, plus against the bundles' TOS, excuse my horrible English ;)

The main reason is you're screwing over the bundle games developers, who specifically intend them to be sold or given out as a single unit, and not broken up. It says so when you're buying the bundle.

It's because bundles are sold as bundles for a reason. Splitting them up goes against the spirit of the bundle. One bundle = one person, if you want to gift some away, just buy a gift url.

If you give away the steam key, leaving Desura keys / drm-free downloads for yourself, it's even downright piracy. You wouldn't want someone giving away endless copies of install-game.exe up in here, would ya?

You answered your own question there - the rules do not forbid it, therefore go bloody ahead.

Although, despite some other suggestions here, if you enter AND report it, you would be a bit of a prick.
