So, I don't have the best pc out there, and this is the only game in the history of games I've opened on my pc where I literally have to reboot my pc through the power switch, because not even the task manager opens. Hell, even windows tells me through a message box that it can't open task manager and I should restart through the power switch. I expected nothing from overkill, and I'm still disappointed.

It was fun, don't know how they're going to make it better... it's lacking in so many areas.
Took forever for Alienware to finally give a key.

Error!
Unfortunately, a key could not be assigned to you. This can occur for one of several reasons, including:
1) We've ran out of keys before we could assign one to you while you were in the queue.
2) You are in a country or region that is not eligible to receive a key.
3) A key has already been assigned to you.!

If anyone's interested in a copy and actually intends to try it out, reply to my comment.

It's basically Pay Day 2 with the tactic of Dead Island (stand on cars if in danger). They damage canon of Walking Dead by, just like Telltale, calling them 'walkers' when the lore has each group create a different name for them, bar the word zombie. People were saying it wasn't entirely like Pay Day 2 - I didn't play much Pay Day 2 after it came out (the ONLY game to ever give me simulation sickness over 30 years of gaming..) but to me it seems very similar. The mission types, human enemy AI etc. The shooting doesn't feel very good, it's one of those games where you shoot really badly until you've played a fair while to level up stats. Not sure if the weapons get better then as you can only get to level 5 in the beta, which only five you five stat points. Which is enough for 2-3 out of around .. 40? possible stats, each with higher 'stat point' spending requirements. The music is repetitive AF. The graphics don't look great. CPU gets hotter playing this game than other games of similar visual quality and settings. 'Post processing' setting needs to be set to 'low' in order to not have some of the worst DOF ADS I've ever seen in any game (it's still there but not nearly as bad with low setting - you can't turn to an 'off' setting). There is no manual or tutorial for the beta so a lot of things are quite confusing, but most of them seem like pointless busywork/forcing more time out of the player. You get two types of scrap and provisions as rewards for missions but are meant to do base management. In order to do base upgrades you need to use the resources. Every 3 or so successful missions the game will take a bunch of resources (if available), otherwise 'camp morale' goes down. No idea what the morale even does. You have some side mission crap of being able to send camp members on missions, but it's worse than even a game like Fallout Shelter. At least in that game, when you sent your base members to a mission, you got to play through the mission. In this one, it's like a trading card game - you have survivors and put them on the mission. Click 'accept' and wait x amount of turns to find out if that 78% chance of success will come good or not. Rewards for missions were really low too, even for ones which required high level survivors (they level up from successful missions). There is also a confusing crafting part of the game, where you make a consumable weapon (molotov, shiv etc), bandage and perk (power/electronics, chems, lockpicking etc). You collect scrape parts (4x types) and need to use this to construct the items. Problem is, default is push tab to craft screen. Then you have to push e, f, or q. If you don't push tab right (trying to push buttons quickly) you might accidentally press q, which will waste your weapon consumable. The others have a bit of time to warm up with a bar on the screen, so you can cancel still. Also I found you can run while med'ing, but it's hard due to default steam overlay being shift+tab. You need to shift to run, then tab to craft, which will stop you running (if you use shift - tab that is for steam overlay and have to avoid using both at once), then you need to press and hold e, f or q, then you can press shift again to run while doing it. Then you have to press tab again (presumably after taking off shift) to get the menu off the screen after crafting, then press e to bandage. Then tab again, then e again, to stock another bandage (if you had the meds to do it) ready for the next injury. I know I could change my steam overlay buttons but it's kind of stupid they made it this way/so convoluted. There's also a somewhat annoying gun repair and modding element. Lots of mods only work with certain guns. Some guns are restricted to certain level characters. Attaching a mod, even a silencer, takes resources (!) to install AND remove. But you can switch with no penalty? Lots of silly, annoying and stupid things in this game. 'Free DLC season 1' they say - isn't that actually a game you are buying? Not some 'added extra'? Just a way to string out the development process even longer, in order to not have to produce a finished product very quickly, all the while taking pre-orders and 'sales' (of an unfinished product)?
I tried to give it a chance, but having only 3 missions (one of which seemed to have at least 2 possible randomised options, humans or zombies defense waves) doesn't really show whether or not there is anything to the game.
The story seems weak, the video clips before each mission are annoying (voice actor, unskipability when in party joining at start of game, etc etc), the matchmaking has no options and won't pair you with anyone if it can't find a decent ping (bad for remote countries). Characters can only use certain weapon types. Lots of crappy things about this game. $60 price tag, ouch.
