Edit: Might as well add more.
I don't always listen to rap, but when I do, I listen to Hilltop Hoods.
Pure Talent. So much class, he defies gravity.

question what is demeaning on what i said, i did not insult him nor troll him, my opinion on the best band ever differs and i made a statement stating it. i was just forming the bases of any friendly conversion, on why he believes, what he believes. that's all
Comment has been collapsed.
Basically, just because you don't think they're the best band ever doesn't make him wrong. I tried to make it clear in the topic that replies should only be complimenting the music posted. No negative opinions, even if they're only negative by being a lesser amount of positive.
All I can think to add is that I hoped no one would try to make someone justify the music they posted, or how they described it.

and my opinion(a belief or judgment that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty.) dose not make me right, but please relies this i said nothing negative, i just want to start a conversion on his music choice, and his thought on it. also their is no such thing as being a lesser amount of positive , you can only be positive, neutral, or negative. but i will stop posting here(this thread) if that is what you want to avoid troubling you any more.

Honestly, and no insult intended at all, but I would prefer if you would. I understand that you just want to make conversation, but I was hoping to make a thread without that type of conversation in it. I really do appreciate you being so understanding about it as well, and asking questions instead of being insulting. I sincerely apologize if I've insulted you in any way.

Wut! Dude he even said he liked it, just that it isn't the best ever. Pretty non-controversial.

I really like the story that the lyrics convey. I can't say everyone has, but I certainly have experienced relationships ending like that. And, including the females perspective was a great addition.
The Postal Service has a song with comparable content.

There seems to be a lack of tools here
Also, why isnt here any classical?
Or perhaps the system is just down
My 2 cents :D, if i were to post what i usually hear this would be a will, not a post.

I really enjoy how natural his voice sounds, it can be overtaken by the choruses, but there are no clear signs of autotuning when he sings. The lyrics make it a great song to listen to with a woman you love, on a snowy evening.
Having tried to view that as objectively as I could, I kind of liked it. There are negatives I could point out, but I don't feel it would be appropriate for the thread.

"there are no clear signs of autotuning when he sings"
A sure sign TheEgo is bullshitting his entire reply.

I would actually love if you could point out any obvious signs. I can usually pick that shit up instantly.
Don't forget, this kid wasn't groomed, he was discovered on youtube.
Bieber himself actually sounds great and has amazing vocal control, he starts off airy, and later sings with a more reggae flair, and solid tone. The kid can sing.
But, the majority of the song his voice is completely hidden behind a wall of autotuned chorus-effect. And not even a chorus that works off his vocal, but one of those obnoxious choruses that are meant to sound like back up singers but are clearly just an effect track.

I honestly wasn't listening too much, but every other piece of music of his I've heard has been very autotuned (though not as bad as Rebecca Black, thank god). His voice didn't seem to have changed at all (also, I've heard a non-autotuned version of Baby, I think it was, and ARGH. Guy's an AWFUL singer). He's either seriously improved (unlikely or the hate for him would have gone down at least slightly) or he's still a talentless kid.

You probably just heard a recording of him singing it poorly, that was claimed to be "without autotuning"
I'm getting the impression you aren't very knowledgeable on music production. Not trying to be a dick, or pompous, it's just that these negatives you're throwing out seem to have very little technical reinforcement. While I am making an effort to actually be positive toward Bieber, as positiveness was my intention for the thread.
I guess what I'm saying is, there are a million things wrong with his music, but to claim he can't sing is just incorrect, lol.

No, it was a genuine attempt at singing, that's what irritated me so much. I don't care if you can't sing, but thinking you can when you can't annoys the hell out of me.

Yeah, I'm terrible for being slightly less than amazingly nice about people being mean in the thread I hoped would be positive.
(Off subject, I still would love if you posted some music. And, I really would give it a fair listen if you wanted me to.)

It was Fryderyk Chopin's 202nd birthday yesterday, so I'm going to go ahead and recommend...pretty much anything he wrote. Famous highlights include his Nocturnes, the Fantasie-Impromptu, and second Sonata (which contains the famous funeral march). Very, very intensely lyrical and deeply emotional piano music, some of the best piano writing in the history of music.
As for more modern stuff, I've lately been in the mood for what I call "action pop"--like, rhythmically intense pop. Tends to appear more in east-Asian pop, so I'll drop the name of J-pop group savage genius here. Check out "Forever"; I think they do a great job of combining lyrical melodies and strong harmonies with a great sense of rhythmic intensity.

Not really much of a music fan, personally. I find something I like and I'll listen to it a thousand times, but I almost never actively look for music. Still, though, here's a random selection of my bookmarks. Tried to get a good variety of styles and genres here.
Sarah McLachlan - Full of Grace.
Eisbrecher - Vergissmeinnicht.
katethegreat19 - You're Not Alone.

Right now I can't wait for the new Shins album to hit the street. Their new single Simple Song is quite nice.
Right now I'm liking Sleigh Bells, some of last year's songs I really enjoyed include The Rip Tide - Beirut, Holocene - Bon Iver, Queen of Hearts - Fucked Up, Die - Girls, The Sparrow - Mastodon, I Don't Know - The Sheepdogs, Cruel - St. Vincent, Civilization - Justice

I really don't expect this to work out. People NOT insulting each others taste over the internet? IMPOSSIBRU!
But, this is the challenge I place before you.
Post up youtube links to music you really like, and listen to the music other people have posted.
If you like what you hear, feel free to say so. If you don't like it, just don't say anything.
And, to make clicky links, put what you want the link to say in [brackets] and put the url in (paranthesis) with no space between them.
