I had to read it twice to get that the title doesn't say "I'm a professional scum master"...
congrats

One of my colleagues is about taking a PRINCE2 training in the upcoming months. I know almost nothing about it, but since I'm hearing this name again and again, I guess I have to take info sooner or later...

Congrats! Even if I have no idea about what it is :P

Isn't Scrum a framework for software development and cloud-based projects? I heard about it during my CCNA class. Congrats.

That, and many other things. Scrum can be used for almost every project. In a few words, it's more a philosophy than a method. It's a way of organizing collaborative work, based on empirism and self-organization. There are a set of rules to make sure everything is coherent,It focuses on regular self-inspection and adaptation. It's quite nice and effective in my humble opinion :)
By the way, happy cake-factory day !

We're playing the competitive version described at the bottom of the article. A lot of IT guys are actually pretty good at it (I guess you have to possess good logic and analytical thinking to be an IT specialist so that helps). :)

Fun fact: I'm currently re-watching the trilogy. Currently as in: I'm right now switching from SG to Return of the king (juste before the white city is attacked, when I paused it a moment ago !) :-)

Many persons are and there are reasons for it :) In fact, agile is very good and effective, but it's not for every organisation. A bad agile implementation is often worse than no agility at all, that's where most bad experience with agile come from in my humble opinion.

Congrats - I have scrum and analysis certifications, so I understand how much work they can be to acquire.

If you are not in IT, you probably never heard of it (and it's fine !)
you're probably right for most people. I do know about it and hear about Agile a lot because I have a twin who heads projects for brands and she is working mostly with Agile and I've heard "scrum master" way more than I'd thought I would in my life lol
Kudos on your new certification and may the Fifth be with you, Rebel Scrum.

I digged a little bit and found that there is some competition between Scrum Alliance and Scrum.org. In fact, one of the founders of Scrum left the first to started the second. There are different level at S.org, while there is not at SA if I understood well.
I found some info there and there:
https://www.bytelion.com/scrum_org_vs_scrum_alliance/
https://www.scrum.org/support/how-are-scrumorg-courses-different-scrum-alliance-courses (this one is obviously not neutral !)

Wow, thanks Saint, I really had no idea and didn't think of searching it. I guess the main difference is just the name of the certification: Certified Scrum Master (SA) vs Professional Scrum Master (S.org). I guess any of them is as good as the other. Well, good luck into your career path and I really enjoy knowing there are also other people passionate about SCRUM and good working methodologies. Take care of the team members and I'm sure they will appreciate this !

Lots of words that I don't know the meaning of, yet that doesn't make it any less on an achievement. Congratulations!

Scrum is a project management framework of the Agile family. If you are not in IT, you probably never heard of it (and it's fine !). For my part, I've been trained to Scrum one week ago and I had to pass an official professional certification. Well, I tried this morning and I'm happy to state I passed it :)
To me, it means I'm getting an official skill which will help me in my work. To you, it means a couple giveaways ;)
Level 1, no restriction:
Hidden Folks
Level 3, SGtools 0.33 ratio (not redeemable in Japan):
Little NightmaresEndedFor the record, if you are a Scrum master too, please drop a line ! In particular, if you passed the level 2 or 3 Scrum master cert, I'm interested in talking to you (mine is level 1).
