I just run them at night, while I'm at work, or when I'm watching TV.

Yes, you can use SAM (Steam Achievement Manager), even if it's frowned upon. Just launch the software, and double-click one of your games to open a window. Steam will think it's running and you can get the cards this way.
edit : there, it's all explained.
I don't think it's against the rule to give that info. If you think it is, let me know and I'll delete that.

Hi there! Is it possible to to run fake game process that steam will think the game is running? I have a bunch of games in Steam that I'll never play (from free giveaways like POM or Pid) and I want to get cards from them. I know that I can run game, alt+tab and wait but I have just 2gb ram so it becomes impossible to even using browser or listening to music while game is running. And there is no giveaway like I said.
