Do you have interest in limited edition Steam deck colours?

already got a steam deck and its just been bug after bug after bug....
trying to use it in decktop mode is god awful and where you find most of them
oooh you randomly shut off my bluethooth .....why???
i cant connect my controller, keyboard, or mouse,
this means i cant alt tab out of game to use touch screen and turn bluetooth back on
only fix is to exit out of game that im no where near a save on
unplugged from tv well playing a game. ok now we have minimized the game in the background so audio is still playing but NO way to pull the game back up what ever you try. spent 23 minutes online looking for fix. best i could do was hold mouse over the icon and the game would pop up for about 4 seconds and i in a tiny box about 4% of the screen size and i would move in the direction of the save. took me ages but was able to save and quit
sticks are already showing signs of wear and tear after not even having for a year so i really only play with an xbox controller hooked up

When your problems are mostly about the desktop mode, is there any reason you´re using that to play games? Its not really how the device is meant to be used. I havent encountered any of these problems, but the only times I started games in desktop mode was when I was getting mods to run, always with keyboard/mouse connected.
If the sticks are showing unusal degradation, you might want to consider RMA. I have no complaints after ~1,5 years with the LCD and 1 year with the OLED deck, both seeing heavy usage, but that might also depend on the types of games you´re playing. If its far off what you´re seeing with other controllers, I don´t think you should have to accept that.

i agree..... the amount of shit i have to search online
games that just dont work even in normal mode, so i relaunch them 11 times checking every proton

Have to side with RavenWings.
1 year and 8 months since I have mine. No issue with sticks. No bugs as well.
Of course I dont use desktop mode that much. But considering its really not the main use for it, I dont tink deck itself should be judged from an "extra" on it. Plus its linux .. so... Dont you need to sacrifice three goats and a newborn to get it working as you need it?

I do have issues with my steamdeck disconnecting from the internet (even with turning off battery saver via internet or whatever that setting is) and a blackscreen issue I was able to fix myself, but overall, I’ve really loved my deck and would recommend getting one.
However, I’d definetly not buy it in white because it just dirties so easily and tends to yellow.
Would definetly love to see other colors, but I wouldn’t buy a new one unless mine permanently died.

My only problem with my Steam Deck is technical. I have a serious drift on my right joystick. It's affecting for some reason 2 buttons, the Steam button and the option button. I have to send mine to repairs. I am using lately more than I normally do. I am just having a hard time knowing I won't be having it for a week or more.
It's by no means a perfect device, but I love it regardless. It's my indie companion or bad ports companions for the most part when I'm on the go.

It's particularly a joke, but yup, I literally don't know a single gamer that doesn't endup with white clothes or accessories looking like butt within 2-3 months after getting them (I myself am fairly obsessed with keeping things tidy and clean and even I will say keeping while stuff looking good is a huge hassle I don't want in my life XD)

Even if I didn´t already have a Deck and they´d cost the same, I´d still choose the black one. But its always nice to see more options available.

Some people have said about after market shells - how easy would it be to change I mean I was thinking of getting this since I haven't got a deck yet but if a shell is easy to change the colour might just stick with the normal

those sticker wraps are just, well, stickers you put on your deck. case swap is actually removing everything and throwing on a new case. and a silicon case is just a case that goes ontop of your deck. like for your phone, tablet, or whatever else.
new case seems cool, but I won't ever do it because I know I'll end up messing it up somehow. there are tons of videos though, and some of the cases seem really nice. depends if you wanna do it or not.

I prefer black to white most of the times but tend to like white clean stuff but in thise case not sure if it's due to the screen being most of it's front, it doesn't appeal to me at all. The black/orange limited edition was a lot nicer, at least for me

If they were the same model, performance, price, and only the colour would change, I'd still choose the black. Tho other colours could be interesting. Purple, tangerine, etc (ofc depending on the exact tone).
My black one is pretty and has been with me since... September? October? of past year, when there was a price drop because the OLED were going to get launched.
I doubt I've used it more than 24 hours.
I bought it because FOMO, honestly. It was something I could afford, something desirable, and while I'm not a handheld console guy, I could see myself using it in many situations.
Unfortunately I lost my job (let's say it better: someone fucked me hard about keeping my job), other things happened, and here I am, 11 months of consecutive depression and no change in the horizon. Still far from my records.
So no situations to use it so far, except doing some tests with plugging it to tv and playing with 2 gamepads, using wire instead of wifi, that stuff.

Ok different post. If someone wants the white colour, well, there are both time and amount limits.
The purchases must be one for account, during November 2024.
There's a limited amount.
And in short, it's the same as the current 1TB OLED being sold, just everything (including cleaning cloth) will be white.

Nowhere.
This new version of the handheld PC launches on 18th November, but if you want one, be warned: only a limited number will be available ("Once we're out, we're out," Valve says).
Doing a quick search, I've not found any numbers, but another source says there's an allocated amount for each region. So maybe you run out on your region while it's still selling in others. I don't understand why, maybe they've already done the logistics and that's the result.
The white Steam Deck will only be available in "limited quantities, with stock allocated proportionally across each region," and only one can be purchased per Steam account. Exactly how limited said quantities are is unclear, but Valve has stated that they won't be doing another run.

I don't see any value in buying a second Steam Deck. I have gotten a ton out of the Deck I already own though. Great device.

Question would something like this be any good in terms of changing the colour and adding a bit of protection - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Colorful-Protective-Suitable-Skin-friendly-Accessories/dp/B0C6T2ZLR8/

I love my white oled Switch, but this one is not as pretty. I've been saving up for an OLED Steam Deck and hopefully grab one for Christmas, but I think I'll prefer the standard version. I wouldn't mind paying a bit more for a different color, but I don't like this shade.
