I'm not seeing the "XY now owns this games" Message anymore in my Steam activity feed

Does someone know something about this? I read about the functionality to make private carts when buying games, but my wife e.g. didnt activate it, and I dont see her new game messages in my activity feed anymore.

Yep, those are not visible in activity feed anymore, starting from about the start of sale. Unsure if it's intended or just a bug caused by private games coming to beta. Knowing Valve I would bet on the latter, but who knows.

I guess it's a bug related to their new "private purchases" feature. If they truly would intend to hide all new purchases, they wouldn't have to introduce the choice to make some purchases private.

Well, there is a small chance that it was done to reduce load on servers during sales. But I also believe that it's just a bug.

Yes, you don't get notifications anymore if a Steam friend bought a game which is unfortunate as I discovered some games I was interested in buying this way.

There was already some way to do this in the past, When armored core came out I saw a friend activated it as a pre-order in activity feed, we talked about the game, later I could not see it anymore since he changed something in the settings.

I think that happens when you set your profile (or just games) to private. This one could be a bug since no "X bought new games" on the feed now. Though now thinking, I could've seen some of my friends' new games even though their games were private, I just couldn't like or commented below them.

Possible, has to have been something along the line of games private since his profile itself already was private beforehand.
