I live in the UK and this thread scared the shit out of me for a second...

Ugh...I'm sorry about your Mom. I'm lucky enough to have both of my parents (and both step-parents) still around.
So-- what are your expectations of your husband as far as acknowledging / celebrating Mother's Day with you? Obviously, wishing you a Happy Mother's Day...maybe trying to be even a little nicer than he no doubt already is. Anything else? Do you expect a card from him? Flowers? A gift?
I'm curious for possibly obvious reasons...

Well we have been together 10 years and married 7 years but I have only been a mom for 5 years. I usually get a card which most of the time is not signed lol. I like flowers buy why waste money on something that will die in a day or two? Plus I have two cats and alot of flowers/plants are poisonous to them if eaten and mine would lol. As for gifts...I don't expect anything but usually he watches the kids for a little bit so I can do whatever I want for 1-2 hours like shopping or going to the salon etc. We will be going to my in-laws for some swimming and grilling later because trying to go out is too crazy on this day. I look at mother's day as a day to be with family and enjoy them and not really a gift day. My oldest made me a painted coaster and planter at school and that's all I need.

That's exactly the same as my wife! How funny.
Yeah, I see my main role as trying to facilitate a nice day for her, especially in wrangling the kids. But I don't get her a card or gift because, well, she's not my mother. :p

Usually my husband has my kids scribble on the cards so thats why he get them. I was reading my card to my oldest and died laughing because it ended with "Happy Mother's Day to a wonderful Aunt" lol. He has never made that mistake before but it gave us a good laugh.

Thank you for the train! I went and found my mom some awesome skirts and matching scarves for Mother's Day, and already gave them to her (to make sure they'd fit!) I'll be going to see her tomorrow, of course :D
Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers out there!

I hope everyone is having a great Mother's Day Weekend!
I have another Train for you guys. There are 230 carts.
I'm skipping the freebies this time because I will be busy having family time with all my boys. Remember to tell your mother or grandmother or anyone who is the equivalent to you that you love them and appreciate them everyday because you never know when the last time will be. This will be the first mother's day since my mom passed last summer but I'm thankful for my husband and two boys who I will celebrate with.
