It was made by queer developers and there are a lot of LGBT+ characters and even nonbinary ones. You also can choose your pronouns at the start of the game. The game takes place in the same universe as VA-11 HALL-A (it was already written about in the thread), so check both games.

also in Paradise Killer the lead is a bisexual woman and provided you cultivate the relationship you can sleep with another woman. the rest of the relationships in this particular game are all heterosexual in nature so the LGBT aspect is truly only there because of the lead, which i found to be p cool.: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1160220/Paradise_Killer/

that's all i've got to add, since most of the games i've played give you the option to be gay but it's a choice like Mass Effect, not hard-coded. good luck on your search!

Lots of great recommendations in this thread already. Of those, I consider Gone Home and Analogue: A Hate Story pretty much essential plays for anyone interested in LGBTQ+ gaming. Given the cultural space they occupy now, I think they're a bit harder to appreciate currently than at release because they're not nearly as landmark as they were back then, but I do think they're well worth playing as games and also as LGBTQ+ cultural touchstones.

Also, here's another recommendation that I haven't seen yet:

Fragments of Him is a first-person narrative adventure game. A little clunky and unpolished in places, but it has heart.

Finally, this isn't necessarily what you're looking for knauko, but for anyone else in the thread who might be on the market for a game like this: Bastard Bonds is basically Fire Emblem, but make it bara.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but Newfound Courage.

Also, ik it's not what you're looking for but you can play Stardew Valley and just choose the same gendered love interest.
