1 question, is there "too many activation attempt" in web activation ?

Haven't tried, but there needs to be, to prevent obvious abuse. There's no reason for it to work differently from the client activation system (unless it's not a complete implementation yet).

There must be, a Web form is even easier to abuse/bruteforce than the Steam client.

Web, Steam application, some APIs available via SteamKit etc... those are front ends. Abuse prevention should be implemented in engine/core/control module not front end so I guess: yes, there is. Unless noob coder.

There are "too many activation attempts" in ASF too, so it's an Steam API thing and there's not a workaround for that.

Maybe it's not released for general use yet... Still I've just tested it and it works :)

Yeah it seems to be in some pre-release state where the core functionality is working but things like wallet balance don't-- so not yet linked from account page.
Thanks for testing!

Still, generally devs use testing environment for testing... not production one :D

This is the first good update from them in a long while.

It's nice to be able to add shiny +ones when you're away from your Steam client installed computer especially for those that entered giveaways and win some when they are on vacations and away from their main computer. :3

Oh wow, a well needed update. It's crazy it took them this long to come up with this.

Next move: Steam client entirely on web... which seems sci-fi looking at this.

Or a stable client.
Mine gets critically stuck whenever I open a library or wish list page with enough games, and then can't be "unstuck". Reloading the page does nothing and try to change to a different page like the store or community home page does nothing.

As for the stable client, don't know why, but I see it harder than putting it on the web :P

As for the stucks you're having, have you tried deleting the web cache of it?

Nope. But they recommend that for games getting stuck, more than community pages.

Google fault, not mine :P
This is for the internal browser cache :)

You get an email everytime you activate a key through this. Kind of spammy.

So great that this is a thing now, can you do this from phone or only browser?

For the record, this isn't Off Topic. General category is for Steam and Steam Gifts discussions, so this would qualify perfectly.

Yeah! now I will not have to wait to activate my wins when I have no access to my computer.

I actually thought about using this new feature today, but old habits die hard and I ended up using the client instead.

I like how it sends an email for each key activated, lol.... much spam, but at least now I have black and white easily searchable record of keys I've activated.
