Looking for some feedback ... I'm playing through RDR2 now and just was gifted Outer Worlds, so those'll keep me busy for a while. But if I did even bother to grab something from the Steam sale this year, I'm kind of looking at the ones listed in the poll.

Looking for positive or negative feedback from people that've played these titles to try to help steer my decision a little better. (I believe my PC should be able to handle them all just fine, I have a 1660 Super now and it's handling RDR2 on high (or ultra?) without a problem.

And I'm aware of the "Resi 3 isn't the same, they left stuff out from the PS1 version" argument. I played new Resi 2 and that was changed as well from the original and I still enjoyed it. I understand its a reimagining of the title vs a true remake and i last played the original Resi 3 back when it first came out so I don't remember the bits that would be missing anyway lol, so that's not a sticking point I'm worried about.

Thanks for your time!

Which one should I pick up in the Steam Winter Sale this year?

View Results
Control Ultimate Edition
Dishonored 2
NieR:Automata
Resident Evil 3

Control is meh, it has interesting universe (via notes and audio files) but the gameplay itself is boring. Same goes for story sadly.
Nier Automata is good both in terms of gameplay and story, but requires third-party mods to have stable performance (at least required when I tried it back when I had 1060) and high-res textures.
Dishonored 2 is pretty good. Imo the best one out of these three variants. But I enjoyed Prey way more, as I'm more into sci-fi stuff.
Can't say much about RE3, but I've heard it's more of a Call of Duty with explosions and stuff rather than RE2.

Nier is awesome and one of the best games I've played. Great story told in 3 playthroughs from 3 different characters perspective and there's also multiple endings. I don't normally play more than one play through but this was easily worth it plus I ended up playing even more after that. Great gameplay/combat. One of the best soundtracks for a game I've played.

There is an issue with resolution for some but for me it fixed it self for me after a few minutes. There's also a 30FPS max on cutscenes and a couple have slight stuttering issues but there's actually a mod called FAR which fixes both of these. I didn't think it was that bad so I never used the mod and still think extremely highly of the game.

I'd say Dishonored 2 or Nier.
I just bought Nier but haven't played yet, but I've head a lot of good about it.
I have played Dishonored 2 and it's amazing.
Control or RE3 don't seem like they'd be amazing imo
