Ordering the 29th bundle?
That was fast, thank you Mille! ^^
I'm in as usual. :-)

Cyanic just said in chat that the 'bundled 7 times' game is actually a different unbundled edition:
cyanicGroupees HQ17:33
Correction to the 7 bundled: this edition has actually not been bundled.

I dont get it cyanic
cyanicGroupees HQ17:35
The base game shows as 7 times bundled on ITAD, but edition you get here has not been bundled.

The Descendant is for episode 1 only?
That kinda sucks. =/

I didn't pay enough attention. lol
I already own the full season, but would have been nice to gift or make a ga.

Got 3 new games to play and the rest I can gift/keydrop. ^^
Not a good or a bad bundle but more like something in between. ;-)

7 Steam, 1 Greenlight, 2 unbundled, most others bundled 1-2 times, one bundled 7 times.
Correction to the 7 bundled: this edition has actually not been bundled.
Yeah, except the base game for "In Between" (the one bundled 7 times) was free I don't know how many times.
The Descendant (Episode 1) seems decent but the rest is shovelware.

Hm. Part of me is a bit interested in the first-time-bundled HOG, but I also know that Hidden Mysteries is pretty much a really bad HOG series, which I swear was made only to cash in on the really old (as in, second HOG series since the genre's conception after Mystery Case Files) Hidden Expedition franchise; that franchise even started with a Hidden Expedition: Titanic.

Hidden Expedition: Devils Triangle though is one of my most favourite HOGs of all time. It was so funny, full of hidden references, I loved it. For some reason I missed they continued that series. They turned out to be quite bad you say? That's a pity.
EDIT: Nevermind, I just noticed it's a different series. /facepalm

Nah, Hidden Expedition was also shoved onto Eipix, who are nowadays usually recognised as the best HOG creator studio ever. They are responsible for the modern Mystery Case Files games as well. Expedition by now has explored some really strange scenarios, although it has also been "fantasy-ised".
I meant that the Hidden Mysteries series felt like some a weak cash-in rip-off of the more famous Hidden Expedition franchise. Where Titanic, the starting game, was actually my first HOG. The irony is that it is one of the most difficult hidden object games ever, so I haven't actually manage to find something nearly as challenging in the genre in the past nine and a half years. :)

The more you know...
Eipix games - I didn't follow the HOG scene anymore since I discovered Steam and just browsed their website: we need all of their catalogue on Steam, right now! There are new Msytery Case Files! How did I miss that? And tons of other series I loved were continued as well.
How can they not be on Steam, seriously? All parties involved are missing out. Instead we're stuck with the same Artifex Mundi template over and over again. :O

Eipix is mostly funded by Big Fish, and they keep their games mostly on their own platform.
Still, there are plenty of Eipix games on Steam by now, although the price is…

It is mostly Dark Parables, their original debut franchise, which series will fully be available on Steam. As for MCF and Hidden Expedition, maybe one day they put the entire series up as well. The first five games of each series have already received a Steam release. And yes, they are still ongoing, with MCF at 15 games and Hidden Expedition only one behind.

I am a bit mad at myself that I found about this too late as well—despite watching the HOG group alerts—, because the Dark Parables series pack was around 40-ish Euro at one point, and the bundle gets automatically updated as they port over the games, meaning I could have had all 13 games for that price.

We have been kinda begging BFG for two-three years now to do that but they haven't managed to discover that sale discounts can go beyond 50% thus far…
They are very aware that they have the best HOGs on the market, better than most Artifex Mundi ones, but they have an insane pricing policy. And Steam is still a lot friendlier than what these game go for at their launch period at the Big Fish Games platform.

Well, back in the days I didn't pay for HOGs. :X
And as things have developed, it looks like it may take a long time until I play one of their games. A) I recently passed the 2000 game mark on Steam aka I have plenty of legit games to play, and B) I'm not supporting an insane pricing policy. ;)
Although I have to admit it seems fair to price good products accordingly. Why sell something for cheap if it also sells for expensive? A decent sale here and there shouldn't hurt though.
The whole bundle scene is in a state of change now: the cheap bundles contain mostly older, already before bundled titles or the crappiest of crap that emerged out of Greenlight. Greenlight is about to disappear. Decent games are bundled in a lot pricier bundles than they used to, which is a good development in my eyes, to give the players more incentive to value their purchase. Who knows, maybe we'll one day see Eipix games in a sale that they and we, the customers, see fit. The playerbase is there, they just gotta snatch it.
Who is "we" btw?

HOG players or casual players. BFG's Steam presence was an on and off thing for a while, but about a year and a half or maybe two years ago they made a commitment to expand on Steam. This is when they opened by putting up Drawn 1, I think the only game thus far that even received cards (which are expensive as hell for a casual game this old). They had some community interaction for a while, but now I mostly just see them quietly putting games on Steam with maybe minimal tech support there. I am… kinda baffled on what they are exactly doing, but they seem to be continuously doing it at least.
I still hope that they'll one day do a Bundle Star bundle though, even if it is for a 80% sale not the usual ~92% one. But that would mean Steam keys, and they are one of the few studios who have several Steam games but no stores that sells Steam keys for them.

Man, this whole thread tangent was some serious HOG education for me. Thanks.
